galaxy s9 plus.jpgSamsung reveals the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship phones for 2018.

Although this year's Galaxy flagship does not receive a major design overhaul, there are some features worth outlining. Samsung addressed the feedback of the finger print reader in last years Galaxy S8 by redesigning the cluster on the back of the device, so the finger printer reader now falls in the middle. The speakers on the phone have also received an upgrade to a dual speaker setup tuned by AKG sporting Dolby ATMOS support.

Rounding out the hardware upgrades is the new Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6GB of RAM for the Galaxy S9+ model. Besides these welcome changes, the core hardware (display size and resolution, battery capacity, fast charging, headphone jack, ect) of the Galaxy stays the same from last year.

Coming down to the camera, Samsung gave the Galaxy S9 the dual lens treatment we saw on the Note 8 last year, but with a new variable aperture primary lens. Sporting a f1.5 and f2.4 physical aperture gives the camera the ability to prioritize sharpness or maximum light. There is also a fun new AR-emoji feature where the phone creates an animated emoji with your likeness.
