Top 15 - The best video games of 2017 so far (PC, PS4, XOne, Switch)

in game •  7 years ago

We are mid-year and we have super games coming up like Need For Speed Paybak, Call of Duty WWII, Destiny 2, Cuphead, Super Mario Odyssey, Wolfenstein II, The New Colossus, Assassin's Creed: Origins Star Wars Battlefront II and many more. But for now, these are the best games we've played between January and June 2017. For this list we have not considered remastered versions, nor episodic games; Although we have mentioned them in the bottom like reference.
(In chronological order of departure)

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (PS4, Xbox One, PC) - January 24
The popular "survival horror" franchise returns to its origins of fear and gave us a memorable experience that pushes the franchise in an interesting new direction.

Nioh (PS4) - February 7

A true hidden gem that took almost 12 years to launch. Nioh draws heavily from the Dark Souls series, but at the same time adds so many new mechanics that it has its own personality. If you were looking for a good challenge that lasts more than 100 hours, this is one of your best alternatives this year.

Hollow Knight (PC) - February 24

A game of the subgenre "metroidvania" that challenges you and surprises you on each level. Very nice art, well implemented mechanics and a fascinating world that rewards you for exploring.

Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) - February 28

The creators of Killzone demonstrate that they know how to do much more than first-person shooter games. Horizon offers one of the most interesting open worlds we've seen this year and combines it with good history, spectacular graphics and solid combat system. In addition neither another game allows you to hack robotic dinosaurs and make them fight each other.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch, Wii U) - March 3

The return of The Legend of Zelda breaks with several conventions of the franchise and offers us an experience that redefines what we should expect from the open world games. Complete freedom, non-linear missions, the ability to climb anything, an advanced physics engine and an adventure that will last them over 120 hours complete. Not only is it one of the best games of this year, but it is also among the best of all time.

Nier: Automata (PS4, PC) - March 7

A spectacular frantic action game that combines swords, drones, androids, robots and a dystopian world. The mastery of Platinum Games to make complex combat systems, along with one of the most interesting stories we have tried, make it an instant classic. Also remember that the game has 26 finals, so they should have more than 100 hours of content.

Persona 5 (PS4, PS3) - April 4

A game about the life of a student in Japan has never been so fascinating as Person 5. Manage your time and resources during the day and fight against fantastic creatures in the afternoons. Impeccable style and art, one of the best soundtracks this year and an addictive system of fights and progression. After 100 hours of play it's hard to forget a game with so much personality.

Outlast 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) - April 25

The sequel to one of the most acclaimed horror games of recent times. Red Barrel Games shows us that we can still generate good fright and at the same time makes us go through a disturbing interpretation of the Bible and the Apocalypse. If they are fans of terror, this is definitely one of the best alternatives this year.

Little Nightmares (PS4, Xbox One, PC) - April 28

One of the biggest surprises this year. A brief but powerful adventures about a girl who has to escape a ship full of disturbing subjects who want to catch her. Simple mechanics, but an extraordinary setting make it one of the most memorable experiences of the year. If you liked Limbo or Inside, this game is definitely for you.

Prey (PS4, Xbox One, PC) - May 5

The creators of Dishonored show us that they also know how to make very good space games. A title that pays tribute to greats like Bioshock, System Shock 2 and Half-Life. It takes a while to get used to how everything works, but once you get hooked you do not stop until everything is completed in about 50 hours.

Injustice 2 (PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android) - May 16

The ideal fighting game for all fans of DC Comics. Improvement in almost all aspects of the first delivery and offers a lot of content for all types of players.

Rime (PS4, Xbox One, PC) - May 26

A beautiful puzzle and exploration game. A touching soundtrack, an interesting story and ingenious mechanics that will make you think a little more than you expected.

Tekken 7 (PS4, Xbox One, PC) - June 2

One of the most iconic fighting games ever comes back with a new graphics engine and various adjustments to the combat system. A rather disappointing story mode, but a solid combat system that promises to entertain both experienced and novice players. Also it is very fun to do a tournament with your friends to see who can better crush the buttons.

Arms (Switch) - June 16

An atypical fighting game that offers a surprising level of strategy and skill. Each hit takes time to reach your opponent, so you have to adapt constantly to the stage and the other player. 10 unique characters with more than 30 variants of arms and gloves make each fight unique. It also offers a great soundtrack and graphic style.

Nex Machina (PC, PS4) - June 20

The creators of Resogun return with an explosive game with top-down view. A game that offers a fairly high challenge, but that generates memorable moments thanks to its graphics engine that allows thousands of particles on screen.
