Final Fantasy XV (フ ァ イ ナ ル フ ァ ン タ ジ ー ー XV Fainaru Fantajī Fifutīn) is a video game of the genre ARPG developed by Square Enix, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. Along with Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Type-0 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, is part of the project Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy XV was called during its first stages of development Final Fantasy Versus XIII (フ ァ イ ナ ル フ ァ ン タ ジ ー ヴ ェ ル サ ス XIII, Fainaru Fantajī Verusasu Sātīn) but it ended up becoming the fifteenth installment of the saga.
In the Tokyo Game Show 2014 it was announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 would include a demo of Final Fantasy XV and that Tetsuya Nomura had been replaced by Hajime Tabata in the position of director of the game.
The game was released on November 29, 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. While its launch in Microsoft Windows occurred on March 6, 2018.
On January 16, 2018, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. This new edition includes the Final Fantasy XV game along with all the downloadable content published to date, including the Season Pass . Its launch date occurred on March 6, 2018.
Argument
Noctis Lucis Caelum, the last of an ancient line of kings, and the heir to the throne, comes from the kingdom of Lucis, a country that holds the last crystal in the world, which is beneficial for politics, economic situation, and the appearance war of the country. Due to increasingly evident industrialization in contrast to neighboring nations, Lucis has isolated itself from the rest of the world.
At one time, all countries had a crystal, but many of them lost it due to wars because of them. In this way, Lucis united its resources of warlike armament, obtaining firearms along with swords and magic 7, becoming the most modern and advanced country thanks to its military power and, consequently, left behind its cultural and social aspects, seriously affecting the level and quality of life of the population. A cold war has passed between Lucis and the rest of the world due to the possession of the last crystal, but recently, a peace treaty was negotiated, ending the dispute.
There is a myth in the kingdom of Tenebrae about the goddess of death, who shelters the souls of the deceased, and opens the door to the afterlife. When the door is opened to the liberated souls, it is possible to perceive a ray of light that ascends to heaven. Few people are able to see the light, and those who can are given the power of the kingdom of the dead. Noctis and Lunafreya Nox Fleuret - Oracle and Princess of Tenebrae - possess this power.
In the world there is a certain phenomenon called "The Scourge of the Star", which causes the nights to be more extensive as time passes, to a point where the world is plunged into darkness, being the Lunafreya Oracle responsible for Stop that phenomenon using your powers.
The Archaeans are legendary creatures, declared protectors of the world and the ecosystem, being these the manifestation of the power of the stars towards the planet. They manifest themselves in the world thanks to the Astral Fragments, although they are indifferent to the actions of the world of the living.
History
On the night of the signing of a peace treaty between the kingdoms of Lucis and Niflheim, in which the royal family of Tenebrae also attends, the Emperor of Niflheim, Idola Aldercapt, uses the treaty as an excuse to tear down the magical barrier of Insomnia (Capital of Lucis) so your army is able to take control of the city's crystal.
The Niflheim Forces raze the city of the crown, apparently killing King Regis Caelum. The son of King Regis, Noctis Lucis Caelum, is pronounced dead, along with the princess of Tenebrae named Lunafreya Nox Fleuret. After the attack of Niflheim, Lunafreya, who survives the attack, wanders the streets of Insomnia and finally makes his way to Altissa.
The report that Noctis has died is a farce. When the prince realizes that Idola Aldercapt and the rest of Niflheim want him dead, Noctis and his vassals, his royal advisor, Ignis; his bodyguard, Gladiolus; and his childhood friend, Prompto, flee the country and begin a journey to Altissa to meet Lunafreya.

Noctis Lucis Caelum (ノ ク テ ィ ス · ル シ ス · チ ェ ラ ム Nokutisu Rushisu Cheramu ?, with the voice of Tatsuhisa Suzuki). Nicknamed "Noct" by his friends, he is the main protagonist of the story. Noctis is the last of Lucis's ancient line of kings. After the invasion of his home and death of his father, Noctis is named dead as Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, so he is forced to flee his home, accompanied by his three friends: Prompto, Gladioulus and Ignis, in a trip to Altissa to meet Lunafreya, his fiancee, who has something important that belongs to him. Its main objective is to recover the Crystal and obtain a worthy revenge. As a result of having had an incident in childhood, Noctis has the ability to see the "light" and to foresee when a person is going to die.
Prompto Argentum (プ ロ ン プ ト ア ー ジ ェ ェ ン タ ム Puronputo Ājentamu ?, with the voice of Tetsuya Kakihara), a close friend of Noctis, who knows him from school. Prompto is a fugitive and of a lower social class, so he tries to give his best to be useful on the trip. The Chocobos are passionate.
Gladiolus Amicitia (グ ラ デ ィ オ ラ ス · ア ミ シ テ ィ ア Guradiorasu Amishitia ?, with the voice of Kenta Miyake). Called "Gladio" by his friends. a fraternal figure for Noctis. Gladio is the heir of a noble family that has protected the royalty of Lucis for several generations. He is responsible for Noctis being able to defend himself, since he is not only his bodyguard, but also his fighting master.
Ignis Stupeo Scientia (イ グ ニ ス · ス ト ゥ ペ オ · ス キ エ ン テ ィ ア Igunisu Sutupeo Sukientia ?, with the voice of Mamoru Miyano). "Iggy" according to Gladio. He has been a friend of Noctis since his childhood. Ignis is a prodigious tactical military man, but he is also responsible for the food and health of the group. Unlike Gladio and Prompto, Ignis has a calmer personality.
