Go Steemians ! #2 (Go against Steemit users)

Hello Steeamians !

This is a new series about Go, I’m already making post about my game but this series will be different because I’m not fighting a stranger, I’m fighting another Steemians !
For this second game, I played against @saphir, a 20 kyu player !

Just know that this game is simply amazing ! If you like strategy game like chess, it's even a better game, simpler but deeper.

Now, back to the game !

Since it was a high kyu player and that she didn’t make a lot of game, we played on a 13x13 board. I was white and she took 3 handicap stones.
I was white and started with a 3-4 corner because the influence on a 13x13 board isn’t that important especially with her 3 stones already placed. She immediately approached it and played quite aggressively with G11. At that point, I decided to play elsewhere.

We did a little exchange on the right side, all her moves were great so far so I guessed I misjudged her level. She forced me to run to the middle with L6, taking away my live space.

After her move, I managed to find time to close my corner with C10, all hope isn’t lost ! I found her move C8 pretty slow, I’d preferred B9, a move which asks more questions.

Then I directly took the san-san, she knew the joseki for that sequence so there is nothing really special here.

I tried to take her other corner, she made a little reading mistake so I lived there without any problems. The score is now pretty even I would say, I only need to worry about my kinda weak group on the left.

After a short sequence, we ended up there, I felt confident for my group now as I can connect with both of my group.

She decided to cut me after some exchange on the board so I had to try the connection on the left. Normally, it would led to a ko but she was nice to me and let m connect without troubles.

After that, it was only endgame moves where I took points here and there. There was a great reduction in the upper right corner.
The final result is white by 10,5 points but she fought well. Her opening plays were just perfect but she made quite a few mistakes in the middle game.
Anyway, that was a great game !
