Players across the globe are discovering new tricks to catch Pokemon. One man from New York claims that he has caught all the Pokemon.
Many have left their jobs to play the game full time. That's not all -- a company in India called Babajob has advertised for a full-time position as a Pokemon trainer. Many players have reached level 5 and joined teams. Pokemonia shows no signs of abating. So here are a few advanced tips that will help you stay ahead of the pack.
1. Watch the CP
While catching Pokemon you'll see something called CP that stands for combat power. The higher the CP more powerful the Pokemon will be. If you have many Pokemon of the same kind and you want to evolve one, choose the one with the highest CP.
Even when you have an evolved Pokemon, you can evolve the child Pokemon with higher CP and benefit from that.
2. Lucky Egg
Once you will reach level 9, you will receive a reward called the Luck Egg. It helps you gain double XP for half an hour on whatever activity you do, whether it is catching a Pokemon, or fighting a battle or evolving a Pokemon.
3. Razz Berry
When you reach level 8, you will unlock an item called Razz Berry. This will help you in catching difficult Pokemon. Just before you are catching the Pokemon feed it the Razz Berry. It will calm down for your next throw and you can easily grab it.
The best way to use it is when you have a lot of Pokemon to evolve. You'll get 1000 XP for each Pokemon evolved. Also, if there is a new Pokemon added by the evolving one, the reward is 200 XP. With that in mind, go to an area which is filled with Pokemon and Pokestops. That way you can earn more XP and level up.
4. Egg hatching
Eggs will give you Pokemon once they hatch. 2 km eggs will give you Pokemon such as Bulbasaur and Pikachu, 5 km eggs will give you gatsy, lickitung and more. The rarest Pokemon will be in the 10 km slot. You'd get the likes of Scyther, Snorlax, and Dartini.
Now, if you're stuck in traffic, you can switch on your Pokemon GO game and let it run. The slowness of the vehicle will be counted as walking (The limit is 15 km/hr) and the eggs will hatch fast. Also, don't use the limited incubators on 2 km eggs.
5. How to evolve Eevee
Eevee can evolve into three Pokemon. The fire-branded Flareon, the electric Jolteon or water-based Vaperon. To control the evolution of Eevee into the desired Pokemon, you have to rename it as one of the Eevee brothers. For Flareon rename it as Pyro, for Jolteon rename it as Sparky and for Vaperon rename it as Rainer.
6. Use maps to find Pokemon
By now there are many applications and websites which provide the data about the location of Pokemon. PokeRadar is one of the crowd-sourced websites which tells you where you can find a specific Pokemon. Another website called Pokevision lets you see Pokemon spawning in real life.
7. Use Incense while moving
Incense is an item which helps you lure more Pokemon towards yourself. Earlier many people suggested that if you're at home, you should use Incense to catch Pokemon. But later it was found that if you're not moving Incense is triggered every 5 minutes and if you're moving it is triggered every minute. So you better get yourself going.
8. Earn from the Gym
Put your Powerful Pokemon in as many gyms as possible. If your team's gym doesn't have enough space to accommodate your Pokemon, you should train your Pokemon there so that the gym's prestige points can increase. If you are successfully able to defend your gym for 21 hours or so, you'll get some stardust and Pokecoins as a gift.
Recently at the annual Comic-Con convention, CEO of Niantic labs John Hanke assured fans that the game will have many more features coming in. Among the notable new features will be Pokemon trading and customisable Pokestops
