HOW TO RUN WITH THE BULLS IN PAMPLONA ... AND MISS THE HORNS

Pamplona (ESP) 7:00 am - A mix of courageous and reckless volunteers is grouped in a narrow alley, shoulder to shoulder, waiting to run from what can be described as stamped with fully grown Spanish monsters. We were assured the day before that only the worst bulls were running on the last day, midnight black bulls of Miura, but it was probably only a former Spaniard trying to scare us ... just the talking beer, n is not it? The tremor of anticipation. Photo Alex MakThe morning air is still dying of anxiety, adrenaline and nervous laughter. The Spaniards hug each other on the shoulders, the Australians sprinkled with wine of the night before looking around savagely, a Russian with a GoPro attached to his chest waves and bites his nails, a Frenchman with his arms draped over his trembling friends, whispers things reassuring to the ear. "Have you ever done that?" A small, feminine and British voice asks me behind me. "Once," I said. "15 years ago, but I was much younger and more discreet," I said jokingly, trying to ignore my heart hammering in my chest. Then there is a good boom, signaling that the bulls have left their pen and head towards the course. You forget how many minutes you have until they arrive, is that the warning of 2 minutes or 5 minutes? Then you start to forget your roughly thought strategy. "Do not try to execute them, find a door, jump for a fence, if you fall, do not try to get up." A singing begins in the crowd, the chorus of A Seven Nation Army;and the sound of cowbells and heavy hooves see your tone.Reflex resumes, there is only one way out, you turn and run.You run and run, and try not to execute anyone When you hear that the bulls' bells are almost at your back, you do the smart thing, you get out of the way.

1) NEVER STAND UP OR RUN OUT OF A TURN, THE BULLS TEND TO SLIDE ON THE CAILLOU

2) AVOID DIRECTLY BEFORE BULLS

3) NO TOCA LOS TOROS

4) HAVE AN OUTPUT STRATEGY, A RECOIN, A DOOR, A CLOSURE

5) ENTERING THE STAGE DO NOT STAY IN THE DOOR

6) BE INTELLIGENT

You mess with the bull, you get the horns. If you're not looking for the bulls, stay away from the curves and plan a safe place like a door, or an alcove, you'll be fine ... probably. Once inside the stadium, they release a bull to both with dull horns for the riders to test their bravery and for the crowd to be kicked. Oh, the things the whites do to get their kicks! The crowd applauds when someone avoids the bull, and roars when they receive the horns. But it 's not about being safe, it' s about testing your courage, it 's about feeling alive so close to death, it' s machismo and tradition, man against the beast, it's Hemingway, it's barbarism, it's romantic ... It's a bit crazy. The Festival of San Fermin in Navarra is so much more than the operation of the bulls. It's a street party full of music, drinking, eating, dancing and partying every year from 6 to 14 July. It's about meeting other fools from all over the world and feasting with friends and strangers. It is a two-week period when an entire city (Pamplona) meets to celebrate the tradition,
