Game of Thrones leads the nominations for the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, scoring an impressive 23 nods.
The epic fantasy drama is up for the coveted best drama nomination, while The People v. O.J. Simpson, was close behind with an impressive 22 nods, with Fargo in third place with 18.
There were several familiar faces in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series section with Claire Danes (Homeland), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Taraji P Henson (Empire) and Robin Wright (House of Cards) all getting a nod, while Keri Russell finally received recognition for her role in Cold War drama The Americans. One shock was the omission of Julianna Margulies, who was expected to get a nod for the final season of The Good Wife.
