Cracking a Booster Pack - Dominaria (Prize Pack 1)

What an amazing pack to open! The value was off the charts! I'm usually not very lucky with packs, but this one was worth the MSRP (although I got it for free as a prize from the prerelease the other day).

The first card was Opt. This is a Blue staple for Modern/EDH and now Standard. It is only $0.40 now, but I bet in a couple months once it has found a place in standard it will be over $.99. First turn scry 1 and then draw is major advantage if you get this in opening hand.

Another great card from this pack is Rat Colony. It reminds me of Relentless rats. Everyone wants these for casual decks. Just think, you could make a deck of 40 of these guys and 20 swamps and that's it... in standard. How hilarious would that be to win with something like that? Seriously though, just add some Mimics, Fatal Pushes and Contempts and you have a solid deck.

My rare wasn't amazing, but if you opened this in draft you would really want to play White/Black. This card is a token generator and a removal generator. You can't get much better than that. It is a wind condition if it lives through just a few turns late game.

The real winner is the foil. I knew this card was worth something when I opened it, and I was right. It's a $10-12 card. Well worth 2-3x the cost of a pack of card. I kind of saw the foil shine through while I was opening and knew I had something. Did you guys notice the foil was before the rare in this pack? Is that normal now?
