BlockChain and Crypto GAMES

I think nobody would dare to contradict me if I was to assert that the entertainment constitutes a tremendous part of our lives. Furthermore, it defines and dictates a very big portion of how we spend our leisure.

Needless to say, for many people, Gaming (namely Computer Gaming) occupies a huge proportion of their leisure. In fact, it was estimated not long ago that Gaming is the second most watched stuff on the Internet, being surpassed only by Porn.

Newzoo estimates there are presently more than 2.3 billion gamers across the planet.

And indeed, Game Industry is growing considerably faster than expected. With the growing popularity of esports, games will see further growth, exceeding the $130 billion to $150 billion Sports Industry within 2 or 3 years from now. By 2020, games are foreseen to hit $143.5 billion in revenues on a global basis.

But before the BlockChain era, the Gaming Industry had a very big issue: unless you got to a professional level player, it was very difficult to make decent money with this activity; besides, all the items, statuses and privileges that you acquired inside the game were kept on centralized servers and you didn't stand a chance to claim a complete and transparent ownership over them.

Lucky us, the BlockChain came along and solved this and many other obstacles that this industry was suffering from. And sure, we are still in the infancy stage and many obstacles have yet to be overcome in the BlockChain space itself; however, the future looks very bright and we already started to experience a much more pleasant experience from interacting with the Video Games.
