So… welcome to the first official Steemit/BTCPop scavenger hunt

What is it?

This official scavenger hunt is to explore the mindset and interaction of the Steemit community. There will be a BTC voucher code created on the BTCPop website. Participants will need to complete a search online to find the voucher code before they can redeem it for free Bitcoin. The voucher code will be hidden as an encrypted message.

How do you participate?
Participation is simple. Two things must occur…

First, you must register for an account at BTCPop (https://btcpop.co/Home/23943/scavengerhunt) in order to claim the voucher (if you are the first one to find it). There is no purchase or restriction on the BTC if you claim the voucher, you can withdraw from BTCPop immediately or use it to invest in the site. It’s up to you.

Second, you must upvote this post (even if it’s just a 1% vote). I will be using the upvote feature has a participant registration list. If you find the voucher first, you name will be validated on the upvote list. If you are confident you found it, simply post a comment under this listing providing the link/screenshot of where you found it. First post with accurate location and upvote gets the prize.

What is the prize?

The first-round prize is .05 BTC (Currently worth about $135 USD). Everyone who participates will get a follow on steemit at the very least and if you follow back, you will have a chance to see the next scavenger hunt posting before the rest of the public.

When does it end?

The scavenger hunt ends when the voucher gets claimed.

What happens after?

There will be a brief pause to structure a second scavenger hunt. Length of time of the pause will be determined by the amount of time it takes to claim the first voucher. If it gets claimed quickly, it will be clear that it was too easy and additional time will be spent making it more difficult.

When does it start?

The first scavenger hunt will start tonight 6/23 at 10:00pm EST. This will allow time for everyone to register on BTCPop so they can potentially claim the voucher and also get a good audience to keep the hunt interesting.
