One hour one life apocalypse update is a mistake!

in games •  7 years ago  (edited)

Last week I reviewed a game called: One hour, one life. Where you start of as a baby where you have to survive for one hour ( a lifetime) The nice thing about the game is that you can build on the foundation that your ‘ancestors’ left you.

That last part was one of the charmes of the game. In the beginning of the game you often started with nothing because not many people came before you. But later in the game it was starting to get interesting because many people came before you and you could build on top of that.

Many people thought, as the youtube trailer was showing, you could evolve to a modern society.
But this is now almost impossible. There has been an update couple of days ago and it incorporate an apocalypse scenario.

Every 6 hours all servers will be reset to destroy all previous build stuff, so you basically end up at the very beginning of the game. Even worse you can trigger the doomsday event.

Why? This has destroyed the entire game.

Is this laziness on the part of the creator? I don’t think so, I think he got overwhelmed by the popularity of his game and that he couldn’t find the time to make the updates to the next level. Therefor he has build a reset to save him time to develop the next level.

At least I hope so, because if not this is a mistake. Resetting the entire game is putting many people off.

If that so, it's a smart move but as you said it can destroy the game... Maybe a better idea to make that resetting less

Or maybe that was the point of the game from the start, but if it was then it was a really bad move to market it they did before the update as you described (I haven't played the game so I don't know.)

I think you should let the Dev know (in their website, social media, email or if it all fails by a negative Review) that you dislike this update... Maybe other people liked it but it's sad when an update of the game destroys every reason you played it for in the first place.

I mentioned you in my Daily Picks.

good advice
