Time to open another pack of Magic: The Gathering cards! This is from the Oath of the Gatewatch set, which has been out of print for a while. It had some good cards and some stupid gimmicks, as is often the case when Wizards of the Coast tries some new mechanics.
There were nine common-rarity cards, so I know there will be a foil in the back. Each pack has 10 commons, 3 uncommons, and 1 rare or mythic rare along with a land card and a token/advertisement card unless there is a random foil insert. Commons are useful to flesh out a deck, but most players consider them junk. If they aren't valuable or useful, they can be put to use making custom game tokens for Dungeons and Dragons though. The art is still cool, too. And I am a fan of the Pauper format that restricts decks to common-rarity cards.
Here we go! Cliffhaven Vampire is a great card, and the rare, Thought-Knot Seer, is a $8-9 rare. I let @generikat use it in her colorless deck, and she got to play it last night. Fun! The foil is nothing special, though.
Here's a closer look at that rare card. It lets you choose an opponent and remove a card in their hand from the game. Very useful!
I have been playing Magic The Gathering Arena. I don’t know what it is about opening packs just so much fun. It dose make me want dust off my old MTG cards or open some physical packs.

It was a terrible set as far as value goes, but you got one of the decent rares.

Yeah, not one of my favorites thematically, either.
