I recently purchased this model when I found it on the clearance list at Miniature Market. Alas, it looks like it was on sale because Spartan Games has gone out of business! Fortunately, their website says another company called Warcradle Studios (a subsidiary of Wayland Games) has purchased the Dystopian Wars and Firestorm Armada properties, so these games will probably be back.
At any rate, while I like the looks of their Firestorm Armada and Dystopian Wars games, I have little interest in their 28mm games like Dystopian Legions, but this model has so much character that I couldn't pass it up at clearance price. Major Beauregard is a great model for any alternate history games set in the mid-to-late 19th century, and the Clock-o-Dile is made of pure win. OK, technically they are made of pewter, but I am sure the distilled essence of awesomeness is part of the alloy somewhere.
The product box is slightly larger than a deck of poker cards in height and width, and about twice as deep. Upon opening the box, there was a bubble-wrapped bundle with the Major and the body of the Clock-o-Dile; and a ziplock-style bag containing cards, bases, and the small components that will need to be glued in place later. There was also a 40mm black plastic round base for the Major, an odd kidney-shaped acrylic base for his pet, and game-specific cards showing their abilities (not pictured).
Some cleanup will be necessary. There are leftover pieces of tin from the mold vents that will need to be trimmed off. The clockwork croc needs to be assembled with four legs, the top jaw, and the crank. However, the sculpt and the casting quality both look good. The proportions are fairly realistic, especially compared to some of the exaggerated figures one often sees at such scales. The camera I used wouldn't focus properly, so I apologize for how poorly this is conveyed in the images above. I also don't plan to assemble this guy immediately. Sorry.
If you're looking for unique miniatures at good prices, keep an eye on the Miniature Market clearance list and your local game shop's closeouts bin. You never know what you might find. Based on this figure, I would say the Dystopian legions line offers some great alternate models options for games like Deadlands or other Weird West and Steampunk Victorian settings.
