I haven't seen anyone talking about this game on Steemit yet, so I thought I'd use this opportunity to introduce everyone to one of my favorite new puzzle games, Opus Magnum by Zachtronics.
You might have heard of Zachtronics from some of their other games, like Infinifactory or SpaceChem. If you have, you know that they're best known for their brutally hard object manipulation puzzles. Luckily the new game is slightly more forgiving. As always it gives you a rough idea of how you did by several metrics against other players, so I at least was always trying to optimize as I went, even when I got in my own way. But unlike those other games, OM gives you as much time, space, and money to build your solutions as you want. If you can make it ten times faster by making it 100 times bigger, that's perfectly fine.
And all this extra space in particular leads to an untracked, but in my opinion very important metric - aesthetics. If you have all the space and parts you want, why not build a beautiful machine? Here's one of mine:
And that's just the beginning! While I have finished the campaign already I don't think I'm even one of the better (or at least one of the more ingenious) players. If you like puzzles, if you like building things, and if you like kick-ass steampunk micromachinery, you should check out Opus Magnum. If you do, show me some of your favorite solutions!
I have seen this game many times but it still looks way too complicated for me. I think im better off shooting people in Fortnite.
