Quake Champions: E3 2016 Reveal Trailer

in games •  8 years ago

Quake is finally coming back. I was hoping they would bring it back after the DOOM resurgence. Quake was one of the first FPS death match games. It was fast and frenetic. Blasting someone with perfectly timed rockets from the distance or getting that nice kill with the shotgun up close was so satisfying. I can still here the sounds of the grenades ricocheting off walls and the thunder of the thunderbolt gun. Me any my co-workers wasted a many hours at work, I mean after work killing each other in that game. I hope this version can live up to fun.

I've clocked like 10 000 hours in Quake 3. Was also competing for a while back when I was 17-18. Won 1st place $1000 playing Quake 4 once. Also played some Painkiller: 2005 $500 000 dollar event hollar (17-24th place) The old' days of glory. :D

Would be fun to play some Quake again! Hopefully a great competitive FPS aspect to it (FPS for crypto??) o/

I remember playing Quake and being pretty good. Had this buddy who would just dominate us. I remember we went to CES and there was a competiton at some hardware booth to play against Fatal1ty to win prizes. It was the first to get 15 kills. I was able to score one kill on him. My buddy got 7 or 8 kills and won a graphics card. Nobody beat him that day.

Haha, you got one kill on him then! That's not bad.

I played him once in a tournament in Turkey, everyone was watching us and I was leading 7-0 before I messed up. He didn't make a single mistake after that, winning 7-20. At that level it's more about the mental game, tactically timing items and making zero mistakes. This guy Rapha was for the longest time one of the best Quake 3 players, great way to get into the chess-like thinking at high level 1v1 FPS:

125 FPS all the way brother!

That looks like fun. It has to be better than Doom.
