Hello again everyone! This time I am here with a review on Papers, Please!
Before we get into any of the good stuff, I'd like to point out a disclaimer about spoilers, if you don't want spoilers, don't read this until you are confident that you've played enough.
Papers, Please is a simulation of a job as a person who checks passports for a country named Arstotska and it is your duty to make sure no one suspicious gets into Arstotska. It is simple at first. Get the person's passport and check that it is an Arstotskan passport and if not, deny it. But then soon it gets complex, terrorist attacks, criminals and a lot more. This makes lots more new rules.
You also have to remember that each day, you get the same amount of time to check as many passports as you can and each passport you check you get 5 credits no matter if you get it wrong or right. The day may even get cut short by a terrorist attack or a bombing. So with these new rules that keep coming, you need to speed up that pace.
If you get a passport wrong and you let a 'supposed to be denied' person in or you deny a 'supposed to be approved' person. Then a slip of paper will get printed from the bottom of the screen and it will say what you have done wrong and why. This slip is called a citation. It will print about 3 seconds after you have done something wrong. 3 citations in a day will get a 5 credit penalty. Do not worry though, if you do get 3 citations and you get a penalty, the citation count will reset in the next day.
Done with the rules, time for some tips!
If you feel stuck because there's too much stuff to do, deny the person. It doesn't matter if you get a citation, it's fine! You will still get 5 credits from doing that person and it will speed things up a little!
When it says all Kolechians must be searched. Deny all Kolechians, don't bother to search them. it doesn't give you a citation either. Even if the papers are correct.
The last tip is that when the soccer member gives you an arskickers banner or your son gives you a drawing or you get a family picture, DO NOT put it up on the wall. Only put up the plaque that Divisional Authority gives you. If you do put something 'unofficial' then the divisional authority will charge you about 25 credits.
Other than that, you can figure out the rest by getting Papers, Please!
I definitely think that Papers, Please is a REALLY good game. I rate it 4.8 out of 5 stars!!!
