For past years, I used to play LOL.
I used to play LoL A LOT, but I switched to HotS for a few reasons
- Map variations. Playing on Summoner's Rift for 1000 games just isn't fun.
- The community is much better. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect, but it is much better than LoL.
- OBJECTIVES! I LOVE the aspect of fighting for more than just to take down the enemy core. Bringing objectives to help achieve that main goal is fantastic.
- The bots. This might seem like a weird thing to add, but the bots that take over when somebody AFKs is a spectacular upgrade from just having 1 less person, which leads me into my next point
- Shared XP. It opens up the game to have people like Abathur, or Cho'Gall or Murky because you're taking a whole entire different route to XP
- The playability of the Heroes. According to HotsLogs, there are currently 15 heroes with less than 10% play rate, with 46 heroes in the game (or 45 if you consider Cho'Gall 1) thats ONLY 33% of the heroes that are below 10% play rate... Thats close to nothing compared to League's astonishing 76%. Thats right, 76% of the heroes in league of legends have less than 10% play rate. A whopping 93 champions are played in less than 10% of the games. If that doesnt say something for the balance in the game (in game, not matchmaking) I don't know what does.
- More than 1 comp! Just like the map idea, playing the same composition over and over again gets boring, especially on the same exact map. Where as in HotS as long as you have a warrior and healer, the other 3 can litterally be anything and youre good to go. (Not even kidding, got wrecked by 4 tanks and a Morales). To the contrary, in LoL, you have a support, an ADC, an AP mid, a bruiser or tank top, and a bruiser or tank jungle (typically whichever you dont have in top). You can argue "well you can go AD assassin mid blah blah blah" but youre just arguing semantics at this point. There are minor changes but for the most part, thats all youre going to get is that comp.
- Familiar faces. This one might not work for everybody, but seeing people that ive seen for years and years in my video game past experiences, makes me happy. Watching Rexxar smack around Diablo (or vice versa) makes me happy (in a weird way) because I've known Diablo forever and I've known Rexxar for years, but never even dreamed of seeing them in the same universe.
- Shorter time investment Losing after a hard fought battle of 45 minutes to an hour can be rough. Makes you not want to play the next one, but losing after just 20 minutes isn't as heart sinking
The only problem is the lack of players. I wish people saw the beauty of this game the same way I did. People are just turned off by the talents rather than items and such because they think its easier... which... I guess, in a way is easier, but its just different. If there were more people playing then there wouldnt be as big of an issue with the matchmaking system. I hope you all enjoyed my novel about why HotS>LoL.
So what's your opinion towards LOL and hero of the storm? plz comment :)))))

And I think LOL has too many characters so that I can't recognize all of them. Also, HOS focus on teamwork, which makes more fun when playing with friends:)
