I wanted to give everyone an up close look at the gorgeous artwork on some of the cards I opened up from the new Magic: The Gathering, Dominaria set. Green has always been my favorite out of all the colors because I like to grow a large army. It doesn’t always work well in 1 v 1 gameplay but I thrive in multiplayer settings.
In my post “Admiring my treasures,” the last image I share are two cards which are my current favorites. Samut, Voice of Dissent and Tendershoot Dryad - which has, At the beginning of each upkeep, create a 1/1 green Saproling creature token. Saprolings you control get +2/+2 as long as you have the city’s blessing.
With my Tendershoot Dryad card in mind, it was apparent that I would have to make a deck based around the creation of these Saproling token creatures. @tarotbyfergus started to give me his token cards, which hinted that Dominaria would have to have creatures that could make more of these charming plants. My suspicions were correct and these two cards above were unveiled. I’ll for sure be adding them to my deck.
Word on the street was that Dominaria would have more legendary creatures and boy did they deliver! Each pack had at least one legendary creature. I’m thinking of making either of these two cards commanders for my next brawl deck.
The best cards that I’ve pulled so far would have to be these two planeswalkers. @nickcdavis already has Jaya Ballard and @tarotbyfergus also pulled a Karen, Scion of Urza which I heard is running for $45 bucks right now. Yay, score! Edit: I just pulled another Karn but it’s foiled and it’s selling for $100!! Wow!
They just keep getting better and better. The saprolings are unbelievable... : )

They do!! I dominated a game from making so many of the saprolings...but now I have a feeling that everyone will gang up and destroy my cards before I get anything solid going. 😅

I've always thought the art on Magic cards was stunning. I could never really get into the game though. I am more of a pen and paper role player. Having said that, my son and his friends are all quite into Magic and Dungeons and Dragons and I gotta admit that it makes this old nerd pretty happy to share the nerdery :)

I can fully understand why you’d feel pleased with your son going down the nerd path. We used to take the boys to play Pokémon on Saturdays. While they played, @kommienezuspadt and I would take out our Magic cards. Sometimes we’d have young Magic players crowding around us with questions. It’s so cute!
