Hi,
The next game of my childhood time I want to describe is the Mortal Kombat released in 1992.
The game was created by Midway Games company and was representing a kind of games called 2D fight.
In order to run the game properly the DOS operating system was required.
The minimal hardware requirements are as follows: the Intel CPU 80386, 4MB RAM memory and the VGA video card.
The game had many sequel series which are very popular until today. The game was an inspiration for a few films and TV series but they didn't gain any greater popularity.
Due to the game's popularity in 1990s, the games rooms where full of people waiting for their turn to play.

The amazing graphics, brutality and the characters motion realism were the things which made the game different from other games released in those days.
It was first fighting game not coming from Jaan.
Another thing which caused the game very popular was a FATALITY. It is the kind of decisive blow which kills the opponent when the player defeated the game.
Obviously, it was very spectacular. Each of seven characters in the game has its own special blow and FATALITY.
Additionally, near the corresponding board, each player has a possibility to drop the opponent on the spikes which was a part of Stage Fatality.
The game caused a lot of controversy due to the amount of blood shed and very brutal fatality like pulling the spine or cuting the head. Many people considered it as an immoral exageration.
Despite that Mortal Kombat was enjoying popularity. There were special brochures released for each character. These brochures was containing the sets of blows and fatalities as well as his/her history and other information.
The game modes:
The player has a choice between two game modes: the career and the double-player game.
The career mode is based on the few chances (loans).
The player gets the loans which allow him/her to go through the board, to defeat his/her opponents and to fight with the famous Goro (a character with six limbs).
In case of win we have to fight with the wizard, Shang Tsung.
The list of worriors and their battle crys:
Johhny Cage
„It seems simple!”
Sonya Blade
„I think it should be done in the brutal way”
Sub-Zero
„This will be your last fight!”
Scorpion
„Revenge will be mine!”
Raiden
„Thunder will get you!”
Liu Kang
„Show me what you can do!”
Kano
Goro
Shang Tsung
„Your soul will be mine!”
Summary
The Mortal Kombat is the cult game. We can buy hundreds of gadgets with the MK logo. There are many blogs, fun pages, and countless amount of forums.
Many older players considere Mortal Kombat as one of the best games of all time.
