Welcome back, readers! In this video, I only captured one city out of three which was Fancheng. What was good about this mission was that no enemy can attack as I am on an island surrounded by water. The enemy did not make any effort to attack me by transporting troops by boat and I took this advantage by building my army as fast as possible.

At 32:34 mins, my troops landed on another island for the first time by boats.

At 36:45 mins, my army retreated to my city as they had no strength left and they had eliminated a lot of yellow enemies.

At 42:58 mins, I again set foot on the island and discovered Fancheng.

At 46:38 mins, I retreated back to my city for the second time.

At 50:04 mins, I decided to attack Fancheng! Below is the prologue, dialogue, and mission. Signing off! Sejuk!

Prologue

During the Major Battle at Red Cliffs, Kongming left Wu and returned to Jiangxia. He arranged for some of Liu Bei’s army to raid Nanjun and make it a base. Sun Quan thought it cost Wu too much when it was their troops who were engaging with Cao’s army in battle, but it was Liu Bei who had gained an extra advantage. Zhou Yu then wanted to attack Liu Bei, but he had to drop the plan because at that time Sun Quan was engaged with Cao’s army in Hefei and needed reinforcements. Sun Quan plotted to make use of Cao’s forces to annihilate Liu Bei but it was seen through by Cao Cao.

Then Sun Quan and his advisers plotted to kill Liu Bei under the pretence of making his younger sister, Sun Shangxiang, Liu Bei’s wife. However, Sun Quan finally suffered a double loss when his younger sister really became Liu Bei’s wife and he failed in his plot to assassinate Liu Bei. Later Zhou Yu died in a jealous fury because Kongming riled him three times with his superior strategies. Thus, Wu was weakened.

Liu Bei took advantage of this opportunity and successively pacified the four counties south of Jingzhou and Xiangyang. Then he conquered the Western Riverlands and declared himself King of Hanzhong in Chengdu. Cao Cao was infuriated on hearing this news and fielded troops to attack Liu Bei. Sun Quan seized his chance and got his sister back to Wu using a deception. Then, in alliance with Cao Cao, he attacked Liu Bei. Liu Bei ordered Guan Yu (“Lord Guan”) to attack Xiangyang to threaten the allied army. Lord Guan flooded Cao’s seven armies and captured Yu Jin and Pang De, Cao’s chief generals.

When Lord Guan was attacking Fancheng, Jingzhou was not well defended. Wu then ordered Lu Meng and Lu Xun to lead troops in a raid on Jingzhou. Lu Meng sent troops across the river disguised as merchants in white gowns and took Jingzhou by stealth. The defending general in Jingzhou had earlier withheld reinforcements from Guan Yu (“Lord Guan”), who was then forced to flee to Mai city in defeat and finally was captured by Sun’s army. In December of the twenty-fourth year of the Jian An reign era (219 AD), Lord Guan and his son were both beheaded by Sun Quan. Wu thus regained the two important cities of Jingzhou and Xiangyang.

Dialogue

Lu Xun: The enemy’s army in Jingzhou is awe-inspiring and at full strength. What is more, along the river, they have constructed tall platforms to send signals by smoke. The place is easier to defend than to attack. I have an idea which will prevent signal fires from being lit. The troops in Jingzhou will be waiting to surrender.

Lu Meng: But how?

Lu Xun: What Yunchang (Lord Guan) fears is you, my General. You can exploit this by resigning due to a fake health problem. Some people will be sent to flatter Lord Guan to make his heart swell. Then they will withdraw all their forces in Jingzhou and move towards Fancheng. We attack a defenseless Jingzhou with our troops, Jingzhou would be under your control!

Lu Meng: That is a masterful plan.
