Last week I finished playing Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trails and Tribulations with my 3DS and oh, it was a great ride!
Ace Attorney is a series of Visual Novels about being a defense lawyer. The first three entries follow Phoenix Wright who takes seemingly impossible cases and defends his clients by finding contradictions in witnesses testimonies.
Other than my obsession with the characters shoting OBJECTION! I love how every trail is different despite following the same formula of "proving the clients innocence by accusing the real murderer." The culprit is usually one of the witnesses of the case.
Characters names are obviously different from the original
and jokes fit them so much!
Thinking back on the trilogy, every entry has overarching story that span all of its trails. The DL-6 incident of the first game, the psycho-locks in the second and the third game connects many of of the previous chapters together by giving us a back-story and epilogue to Phoenix Wright and his friends.
The logic in Ace Attorney series is hard sometimes, the games expect you to not miss any small detail and have some real life knowledge. But most of time the puzzles are self-explationary.
I used a guide more than once and I found that the solution was in front of me many times! It was frustrating but I guess it's less frustrating than trying to find the answer 3 hours myself.
After finishing the trilogy I'm excited to see what the fourth game has to offer. Apollo Justice Ace Attorney follows a new story with a new protagonist and I think I'll like it!
