What is Fractured MMO?
Fractured MMO is an upcoming MMORPG developed by Dynamight Studios, set to enter an early alpha stage in 2018.
Why should you care?
Fractured is the first open-world sandbox MMORPG mixing action combat with fully interactable environments, appealing equally to lovers of competitive and cooperative gameplay.
No, really, why should you care?
Simply put, Fractured is a new kind of MMO. using SpatialOS (a cloud-based world-building platform created by the British technology startup Improbable), Fractured aims to become a true dynamic sandbox RPG, with features such as NPC aging, survival mechanics (hunger/thirst/temperature), and player-run villages.
To see what a SpatialOS game can be like, you can look at Worlds Adrift, an MMO by Bossa Studios that is about to enter Early Access on Steam later this month.
What can you do now?
You can create an account at fracturedmmo.com (maybe even using this link, unless you hate referral links for some reason).
This will allow you to join the Foundation program, which simply means you will receive points for doing things around the website, such as reading the developers' blog posts and interacting with the community on the Fractured forum. Gathering these points will grant you in-game goodies after launch, such as pets, mounts, and armour skins among others.
One of the high-tier rewards is a "Fire Fendyr" pet, and it's literally a tiny fox that's on fire. It's adorable.
If you're too lazy to do all that reading and interacting, you should still register; since you can automatically receive a small amount of points every day simply for having an account, it's perfectly possible to create an account now and let it sit until the game comes out, at which point you'll be able to cash in on those sweet, sweet Foundation rewards. Register now, and make every day count!

Frequently Asked Questions Abridged
Because who has the time to look things up these days?
- Money?
The game will follow a buy2play model with no monthly subscription fees. There will be an in-game cash shop for cosmetic items, the currency for which you can gain through the Foundation as well. The developers are planning to start a Kickstarter campaign later this year. - Platforms?
All the good ones; PC, Mac, Linux. Begone, console scrubs. - Setting?
Fantasy. Three races (humans, demons, beastmen), swords, magic, all that good stuff. Also, each race lives on a different planet. It's... complicated. - Combat?
Imagine something similar to Diablo. If you have a weak imagination, just look at the pre-alpha gameplay video on YouTube. - When?
Alpha comes out in 2018. You will be able to gain an alpha key through the upcoming Kickstarter campaign or a pre-alpha key by getting a lot of points in the Foundation program.
Goodbye, and happy fracturing
Disclaimer: if you discovered Fractured MMO through this post and chose not to use the referral link that's floating somewhere up there (like twice), if we ever meet in-game, you are legally obliged to buy me a digital beer.
... You know, I have no idea how much beer will cost in Fractured. Maybe it will be the most expensive item in the entire game. If I were you, I wouldn't risk it.
Ehm.
To finish this off, I'm going to leave you with some concept art made by Fractured artist Sunti. It's great stuff. You can find more of it here.
See you around,
