Legendary Raid Hour with Kyogre and Pokémon GO Fest rewards Shiny Raikou

Once again the Legendary Raid Hour on Wednesday took place today. I didn't go out for many raids as it was about to rain. So I decided to go for one at the Houten Schip Gym, in order to be eligible for another EX-Raid invite for that gym. We met up with around 20 people. We did have to split up in two groups as we were just above 20.

After that we went to another nearby gym and then to the market square for a 3rd Raid. Several people were still going to head to another gym a little bit further away after getting their car due to the oncoming rain. I walked back with some of them as I had to head into that direction to go home. While on that path it indeed started raining! Too bad we didn't have rainy weather in-game, otherwise these Kyogre would've been weather boosted :P

I managed to catch all 3 of them, none are particularly good. I immediately traded one of them as well to try and get a better one, out of which I got that 2293 CP Kyogre. No Shiny for me this time, I don't mind though as I already have a Shiny and I would rather have that luck for a Shiny Groudon once it makes its return to Raids later.

Over the weekend all teams have been able to complete their Field Research task quests globally to unlock bonuses. Starting last night these bonuses have become available, so now Eggs take only half the distance to hatch and give double Candy upon hatching. For regular catching we get 2x Candy now too and a guaranteed Rare Candy per Raid.

We have also unlocked the Raikou Raid Day! This will take place on Saturday June 29 from 4 pm to 7 pm local time. Just like with other Raid Days we will be able to get up to 5 free Raid Passes from Gyms during the event. Shiny Raikou will be added into the game then and with every Raid we will have a chance to encounter it!

I do find it strange that this time it'll be from 4 pm to 7 pm local time. That's quite similar to the recent Community Day times, though still an hour later. And all the previous Raid Days like this have been from 11 am to 2 pm local time. This could be a good time, as it won't be around lunch time where I have to make sure I eat enough way before 11 am to head out. It'll be possible that Raikou will know a legacy move(set) on this day, if that's going to be the case Niantic will likely announce it sometime next week.
