Stop playing mercy!
Mercy has gone through repeated rounds of nerfs yet people are still playing her.

According to stats on Overbuff she is still the highest picked champion sitting at 10.35% and 30.32% in the support only category, but I don't understand why. Her ultimate has less value then all the other heroes. You still have to stop moving to execute a rez. This level of vulnerability is only present in Mccree's ultimate, and even then like medusa if you look at him during his ultimate you most likely die. While her ultimate isn't in use you still have some mobility with her shift ability, but her rez is basically not usable unless the fight is over. So offensively she doesn't work. Only after the fight is over can you rez for a faster reset. I understand sometimes you might get away with it. You may even cue with a tank friend that drops everything to shield you, but your creating another job for them that takes away from their ability to pressure and gain territory. The rez could be of use on defence, but if your already counting on the fact you won the engagement then the rez is irrelevant. Ultimate's earn the most value when put towards helping you win the team fight, and claim the objective.

I understand that mercy is a comfort blanket to so many players who learned to play her in her glory days, but the time has come to expand your horizons. Lucio, Zenyatta, Ana, and Moira all have more value to your team during an offensive battle. As well as posses secondary abilities that have a higher value to the team when used every 6-10 seconds. Let me know what you think? What maps and counters may Mercy still bring value that is higher then other support characters?

Despite all her nerfs, she's still viable in a lot of situations; especially in ones where the enemy does not have a Mercy. Being able to bring back a player – essentially making it a 7v6 – is really valuable.

honestly i only see 1/4 resurrections work these days. It puts such a target on your head with how slow it is. At best it ends up being a trade. In gold low plat she becomes a vulnerability, and a liability to the rest of the team. Like a kid brother you had to bring to the park and watch that they don't get hurt.

That's a person issue, not a hero issue; unfortunately.

Hmm. I like this post but I think it makes her more of a skill character. She's certainly long from the days of bein op.

Also, I actually think she's more useful on attack than defense. On offense she can be more free, but on defense the enemy is constantly hunting her down.

While walking my dog I thought of a few more points. First off its not a 7v6 because when someone dies your are already at a 5v6 making your hold of the territory worse. When someone dies its because they were in a vulnerable position near enemy territory, or in an open sightline. So counting on the rez to give you 7v6 makes no sense its like counting on winning an NHL game in a shootout instead of regular time. Plan to keep people alive in the first place. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Secondly Mercy can't multi task. You can Heal, buff, or shoot. Most other support characters can do 2/3 or 3/3 at all times. Its like choosing a single core processor instead of a multi core. It limits your choices to a singular line, why she is still good for beginners who struggle with Overwatch task prioritisation. In games more choice provides opportunity and flexibility.
