Been watching quite a bit of Dota 2 the past week. The qualifiers for The International 8 are on right now and I've been enjoying following the progress so far. I don't watch much Dota 2 but I really think The International is the best event in all of eSports. With a $15 million prize (and still with two months to grow more), TI8 is just an engaging tournament. Usually teams are battling it out for sub million dollar prizes and your average match is fairly meaningless before the playoffs begin. TI just has a feel like everything matters immensely. Getting into the tournament alone will be some teams biggest payday of the season and every progressive round they get by just adds to their winnings.
The main tournament doesn't start until August but the field should be completed over the next week. I don't have any favorite teams to follow at this point in the tournament but most of the games I've watched have been very compelling and I can't wait until the main tournament begins!
