A one month flashback league started today in Path of Exile. Lots of prizes available for players to win, free loot box for hitting level 35 and then a series of draws for hitting certain level milestones. On top of that the top 10 player from each ascendency will get a special skin for their achievement. I will be putting a small amount of effort into getting the special skin but if I don't think it's within my grasp I'm not going to go crazy for it.
For the league I decided to try out blade vortex, one of the strongest skills in the game. It's usually played as an Elementalist but I went a bit off-grid and went with Cheftain as my ascendency. Using a less common ascendency will give me a chance at top 10. I also rolled in the SSF league which hopefully won't have as many players.
Right now I'm well behind the pace set by a few of the more hardcore player but I hope to start closing that gap over the course of the next week. I think I should have a chance if I can get into the 90's. My highest ever is mid 80's so it will be a challenge but I think if I stay focused on one character I think I can pull it off.
