Doom was outstanding in its time. We ( my friends and I) used to organize parties and design tournaments around it, even going so far as installing it on all the computers in our schools computer lab. Thanks for the nostalgia!

I can't really think of any game that I have ever played that were as captivating as DOOM was except for maybe the original Starcraft. What will the next innovation be? It is hard to imagine graphics being any better than they are already but the sky is the limit!
