Final Fantasy XV - Introduction

Having never played a Final Fantasy game before I was sceptical about starting this without trying any of the others. Luckily for me this was not connected to the other games. As I started up the game I was greeted with the words,
‘A Final fantasy for fans and first-timers’.
The game starts out with a cutscene introducing us to the characters.
• Noctis Lucis Caelum. (Prince)
• Ignis Scientia. (Cook/Driver)
• Gladiolus Amicitia. (Bodyguard/shield)
• Prompto Argentum. (Photographer/Best friend of Noctis)

This part of the story takes place in the future. We see that they are in an intense battle with some fire creature. When starting I did not know who it was against, but it did have me intrigued. We are then followed up with another cutscene. This time the guys are much younger. They are in the presence of the king and father of Noctis, Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII.

We learn that noctis is soon to be wed and that king Regis is going to be having a meeting with people from Niflheim

At this time Regis stops talking as a king but as a father as his son is leaving to be wed. As they leave Regis tells his son to mind his manners around his bride to be. Noctis quickly follows up with’ you too with our guests from Niflheim’.
As Noctis is about to leave, Regis tells his son that wherever he may go, the line of Lucis goes with him. With their final goodbyes, King Regis, tells Noctis ‘Walk tall, my son’.

In conclusion I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. But so far it was very interesting. I did not know too much about the characters at the time such as their personality’s or how they act around one another.
