I wasn't really sure what to title this video. Question of the day combined with some gameplay. The game is "Secret Of Mana".
I like gaming and would like to make more gaming videos but i'm not sure if DTube is the place. Should gaming channels come to DTube or should they stay on YouTube? Should all content be 100% original?

I would advise not to post only on Dtube simply because
(I wouldn't advise only posting on YT either - I do YT and Dailymotion - but at least we know it survived this long so isn't likely to pull a Vidme, so it's the best option if someone is only posting on one site)
However gaming and lets plays should not be viewed as negatively as many seem to view them. It can take a lot of effort and work to edit them and some people do some awesome creative shit with gaming content. I make gaming content but I also make things that people may say are more original such as animations and on here, I write one ongoing fictional story and also occasionally write things on my thoughts on certain topics. Animation is more time consuming than my gaming content, but I don't think my gaming content is worse than it or lesser simply because it is quicker. And if we are looking at originality and decided gaming shouldn't be on Dtube and Steemit, what if someone made something along the lines of Battlefield Friends or Two Best Sisters Play? That's animation but it is based on video games. There's no way people could call that sort of thing unoriginal or low effort, but it is less original than if the animation wasn't based on the game. I don't know how well gaming content will do on Dtube and Steemit in the long run but gaming shouldn't be looked down upon for being "easy" or for not being 100% original. I think we should be trying to grow the gaming communities on Steemit and Dtube etc (I don't use dtube as the upload more often than not shits itself so I gave up, but I post my stuff on Steemit) as opposed to giving up and leaving the platforms.

I'm not great with words but i'd like to say thank you for watching and commenting. I also agree gaming shouldn't be viewed negatively, its not original, but it still takes effort. If all content had to be 100% original i believe it would effect other categories like reviewing items or product testing too. And yes you are right, i shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket even though i have been. I need to dust off my youtube channel and start again while uploading to dtube too. Again, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment

Thanks for your reply. And yeah I agree it would affect other genres like reviews. I've personally found some cool stuff on here to do with gaming so I think we should be encouraging it, though it may possibly be a harder genre to grow in, but that's par for the course - it's not easy on YT with gaming either due to oversaturation of gaming content and some other factors, but it isn't impossible to grow in gaming on any platform - YT shows this in that it is very hard to get big in gaming on YouTube but some people have made an amazing success of it - this shows it is a hard slog (and luck does play a role), but it is possible. It's just not probable. Steemit is better for rewarding creators while they are small by far regardless of genre though. I'd definitely recommend you do start uploading on YouTube again though. Your best bet would be to be on both, and if Dtube works for you and uploads properly, that is great because Dtube stuff does seem to get upvoted more on Steemit than YouTube stuff. I personally give my audience the choice between YouTube and Dailymotion by putting both in my posts and I did that with the few videos I managed to get to work on Dtube too. That way they can choose whichever one they like to watch the most. Good luck!
Btw: I upvoted your post now. I forgot to while I was commenting before.
Edit: Hmm apparently I accidentally upvoted my comment instead of your post back when I first posted the comment.... Or something... Idk there's an upvote on your post now anyway idk what I did before but it was meant to be an upvote on your post! Must have accidentally upvoted myself instead...

I wonder if gaming will get more exposure when more gamers from youtube join? I would like to think it would. Going back to your original comment, i have never heard of Vidme so i checked it out and came across their "GoodBye" post. It seemed like a pretty cool place. I wish i would have known about it earlier so i could have experienced it. I do hope things turn out better for DTube though. And i do appreciate your upvote but if you forgot to upvote or upvoted your comment its ok. I upvoted your comments i think but i will double check and apply upvotes if i forgot as well. Thank you again for taking the time to reply

It may get more exposure when more gamers join but then there will be more gamers competing in the gaming section so it may lead to more or less exposure for everyone else if any big gamers move across. It's a double edged sword. It could grow the gaming section greatly and get everyone more exposure or it could just either make the big people dominate that space or bring lots of other gamers and while gaming itself has more exposure (which is great) the gamers are competing against more gamers so it is harder for Little Johnny the gamer to get more exposure as an individual. It would be a good thing either way up to a point but it could potentially increase or decrease the exposure available to the individuals posting within the gaming tag due to more viewers and exposure but also more competition. It's a hard call and we won't really know unless / until it happens. Suck it and see I guess. It will be fun to see how both Dtube and Steemit develop over time too.
