Welcome everyone, in our today's article we are going to talk about one of the Dungeons and Dragons games, the MMORPG Neverwinter. The game is free to play and it introduces players to fast phase mechanics in fight while keeping the PC demands in a lower level than the most games.

The Game

Neverwinter is a 2013 game, it had a very big success during its release, it introduced systems that were not yet established in the MMORPG gaming community and some of them are still unique (as far as i know). First of all the game is based on the Neverwinter city, we are during a time of war and the adventurers are called to defend the city against many different demons, undeads, orcs, ogres etc. While you level up the game starts to offer more and more, mounts, comapanions and of course stronger spells and skills are some of them. There is an auction house and a zen market in which you can buy items for real money (the game is not P2W at least from my point of view). While leveling you are going to unlock more areas with stronger opponents and to the outer city and n the end out of it. The expansions are introducing better features main and side quests and of course greater capabilities for the foundry. The foundry is the in game system for players to create their own dungeons and quest lines for them and all the other players to experience and have fun with. That was the coolest idea of the initial game actually. Finally in the latest expansion the strongholds guild wars, guild bases and a building system has been added (i find it very very intresting) while the pvp has a mode which looks more like a MOBA in which your target is to destroy the enemy stronghold.

Gameplay

First of all i have to introduce the 8 classes of Neverwinter. Classic dungeon and dragon classes consisted of Great Weapon Fighter, Hunter Ranger, Trickster Rogue, Guardian Fighter, Outhbound Paladin, Scourge Warlock, Control Wizard and Devoted Cleric. Every class have pros and cons and i have to admit they try really hard to keep them balanced in PvP. Moreover there are a big variaty of races that give different base stats to your new character, these races are Human, Drow, Dwarf, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Halfling, Menzoberranzan Renegade, Moon Elf, Sun Elf, Tiefling, Dragonborn and Wood Elf. The game has dodging system for "anything suspicius in the ground" and while there is a targeting system it is only there for being able to watch your enemies HP and Mana. PvP can be very demanding since every player has a variaty of ten skills that can use (there is a far greater to choose of course) and some of them come with longer Cooldowns. As i said dodging the enemy skills is essential but dodging skills have their own cooldowns too. In PVE the game is dungeon based and not so openwolrd of course the foundry system makes up for that in a way (not entirely in my opinion). There are bosses, high tier items and some very big questlines, teaming up with other players is important since the game can become quiet difficult, especially against some of the bosses.

Final thoughts

All in all the game is worth of your time since it is free to play and by far better than many many pay to play titles, it allows players to choose how they are going to level up their chrs by foundry, questline or pvp or even all of them combined and it has a great PvP system in which skill and strategy matters. I hope you will have fun if you are to try it and i might see you in game.
