A Girl Gamer Was Born!

My Gaming Adventure

I was born in 1991 - So I grew up with all these games. I'm still a huge fan of First Person Shooter games, and this might give you an idea why ;)

It all started with my dad playing Wolfenstein 3d. I remember that I was too scared to play it by myself, so I just watched him play the game.

Then we moved on to Doom, and I was still too little (and scared) to play it. So we kept playing together!

When we got tired of those games, we tried Tomb Raider – I remember that I was old enough to start playing a little. I was probably less scared of this game also, because there were not the same scary monsters.

As I got older, I got a Play Station 1 and then I played games like Spyro all by myself – Well my mom helped me a bit with the English text every now and then, since I didn’t understood where to go or what to do.

This also happened in the game Runescape, that I started playing on my PC. Since I’m born in Denmark English is not my first language. Runescape is a amazing game that is still popular. I spend so much time on that game, amazing quests, fun adventures and much more.

Around the same time I got started on playing Adventure Quest. It was a game that got boring really fast though.

In Denmark/Scandinavia they released a online chat based game. You where a dog, and then you could buy hats and other things for your dog. You would walk around to chat with people, you could leave a message (poop) for someone to read later. And you could also dig after bones and earn points – It was a fun game!

Then I moved on to Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 – Still one of my favorite games today! This game was the foundation of my carrier for about 2 years as I started streaming this game on Twitch while I was still in school.

As time passed by I had to give Counter Strike a try, and now I still play it every day. I also play games (today) like LoL, Overwatch, CsGo, WoW and that kind of stuff.

Games are an amazing way to connect to other people, go on adventures and experience things you never thought of. What does your gaminghistory look like?

I also played games like The Sims, Rollercoaster Tycoon and games like that - The titles I mention in this post, are the ones I remember the best :-)

Your story reminds me a little of my brother. Same age, more or less the same story. He grew with me playing on my PC and Nintendo, then moved to the Playstation. He spent like two years on Runescape, asking me to top his credit or renew the account when he was like 12. Now he's 25 and plays way less than before: League of Legends, Real Racing 3 and every FIFA game.

That is awesome :-D
Wish I had a brother or sister to share my early gaming days with - it must have been pretty cool!

And thank you so much btw :D Glad you liked it!

Aha found something -

Nah I don't think I made it to this part, or else my dad might have handled that for me :P

Yeah that was the part lool i'm sure there was a dinosaur in another one too. ahh was a good game to play

Ohhhh, sweet sounds, those double pistols... Loving it!

I remember they were almost impossible to hit anything with xD!

Games can be addictive..to the extent that I once sneaked into our computer lab with friends to play late at night! Those were the days..

Games are amazing! I cannot imagine living without all those memories that gaming have given me through all the years :)
Glad to hear that you also have some fun memories ;)

Absolutely. It is a different universe altogether!

You had a FT Dragon Lore!?!? Or, you just didn't get it?
I can send you my tradelink if you would like to get if off your chest xD

Well, I had more than enough account value in other knives to sell them trade just buy a FN D-Lore yup :) I don't really game anymore for now.

My steam account on it's own just with the value of the games it has is at around $500 easily :P

Holy moly, I'm not jelly at all :P
How come you dont play anymore, if I may ask ?

Oh I am just getting myself very wealthy first. And right now it's hustle day for me :P Then when the money is sorted, paying monthly without work, it's chill and gaming time :)

Great write up on your gaming history! It's so wonderful to see more girls getting into gaming and not being ashamed to show it. I don't know what's with all these stigmas around games and them being for boys but I'm so glad they're starting to fall by the way side.

Keep doing what you're doing! I look forward to hearing more about your gaming exploits.

@majinbuu Yea I don't get the whole thing about that. I felt that a lot on my 2 years on twitch.tv as a fulltime streamer, I think its just hard for some people to accept it (dunno why :/?)
I think there might be something about it in competitive games, when girls are better than guys - It seems like something clicks in their brain xD

And thank you so much, again :D!

I'll soon write a post how it was to be on twitch, a lot of people don't really know what happens behind the scenes so to say :)

Hey Buu I'm the real buu lol :p

Is that so? :P

buu smile.gif

Yes, Be goneee!!!

I am now following you because it's important to keep enemies close ;P

I was born in 1973. One of my earliest games was Elite, around 1985 on my ZX Spectrum, I basically only ever got about two jumps from the home system and the Thargoids

Capture.JPG
would pull me out of hyperspace, with my basic starter ship I was absolutely trashed in next to no time.

For the last 2 years I have been playing Elite: Dangerous, 30 plus years of life and computing power upgrades have lead to me being able to jump a few more systems before dying now :)

Wow that sounds amazing, I have never even heard of those games - I'll have to google a bit :D
Thanks for sharing!

Elite: Dangerous visually is spectacular, a flight simulator in space with a Milky Way galaxy with 400 Billion star systems, all different kinds of stars, planets and moons, you can even get a rover and drive around on planets, or once you get to larger ships launch your own fighter escorts.

There is only a very vague story, but after years of speculation, the Thargoids are back, just pray you dont meet one ;)

Hi @dinahthatsme ! I'm a gamer myself. Started in the 90's and loved the way you took shots of classic games like tomb raider!?!? haha I remember being hooked on that on the ps1 for months! Nice timeline review. Don't even get me started on the sims. Even tried understanding the language once upon a time, never came through with it hehe. Thanks for sharing your gaming history, it's nice to read about other gamers as many gamers don't usually write about themselves. So, thank you. Cheers!

Tomorrow Never Dies for N64 was dope. Halo Combat Evolved also DOPE!

Very nice. I was born in the same year so I can relate to most of these games.

It is a good year to be born ;) haha..

I played Wolfenstien. Graphics was really bad. I was dizzy by the time I reached the final stage with my BFG. I played all the early Tomb Raider games that came before Angelina Jolie played her in the movies. My family skipped the Nintendo and PS1. I was working abroad when PS2 came. My brother who was 10 years younger , was the one playing by then. He was a good FPS player. He played Half Life and his team competed locally in Manila. I'm a DOTA & LOL player before I got assigned to China

I am really surprised seing Tomb Raider and Doom screenshots here, considering the fact that you are a younger generation! Even I missed Doom, but caught Tomb Raider! I remember this level with the boat! It was sick awesome!

Yea I think I was too young and scared anyway, but I still enjoyed it as long as I could just sit next to my dad and watch him play :-)
It have to be why I still love FPS games :D

I posted a Tomb Raider video in the comments, if you would like to get all nostalgia :P

Yea, I saw it and totally felt it! Thanks Dina!

I spent like 5 years playing Runescape and looking back, I absolutely despise myself for playing that game, but I have to admit, some of my best gaming memories are of Runescape.

Nice!
I love playing games so much. Always dreamed to play professionally but life took me on another path :)

I would say my 2 years on twitch as a fulltime streamer, was the best job that I have ever had so far. It was also the hardest, I had to put so much work into it - but I loved every second of it <3
So where did your path lead you @terranoise ?

that's great i am really happy to see people get successful gaming careers. It is nice we have twitch these days, i could only wish for that kind of thing back then. :)
some how i once met a guy and his brother was a DJ and he was producing music a little bit, so after i heard his track i was like ok i'm gonna have to try to make music too. I never thought that i'll become a music producer and nobody were ever supporting me on this until my first official album release back in 2006.Yeah now thing's little bit different in a positive way :) im gonna follow u :)

Wow that sounds freaking awesome :-)!
Im so glad that everything went great. I can so relate to people not supporting you, it is hard - But as long as you just keep going and know its what you want :)
