Hi, I'm building a blockchain game (free to play and play to earn). You can check out the start of my work (the base maps, with cellular automata) at http://hex.world
I posted about the elemental system last month, I wanted to show you my great progress since then.
Biome generation, plate tectonics, player and camera control, and other important systems have all been put in the game, now I'm turning to the item and combat system and then there will be an alpha version to play. Not long now! Check it out...
Hype!
As you can see, I've integrated multiplayer already as well. So far I'm ahead of schedule. Can't wait!
That actually looks quite cool, will surely give it a go, thanks for sharing!
I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made two about 93 and 2000) and was just curious whether there is any specific gaming era/genre, that you get your dev inspiration from?

Definitely the psx era. I grew up playing all those great rpgs like final fantasy, legend of legaia, legend of mana, and so many more. My main inspiration is final fantasy tactics, I'll be implementing a similar "job" system, but with a twist. In hex you'll find gems that allow you to absorb mana and cast, and also follow a special generated skilltree inherent to the gem.
However, I'm focusing on making a fun cooperative/competitive multiplayer experience so even though Hex is inspired and takes systems from those games, it aims to be an entirely new genre. My goal is to make truly dynamic procedural content and a unique play experience for each player and each character you play.
