So Pokémon Go, celebrating 1 year this week/next week around the world and with the secrets that they have in store for us. They have said this is just the beginning of a couple of action-packed months so there is much more to look forward to in the near future. So far, the first anniversary includes an event in the US, Chicago and another in the UK, Chester. There is also a first anniversary gift box that has been added to the in-game shop that cost 1200 coins, it includes 6 incubators, 6 max revives, 2 raid passes and 20 ultra balls. They have also announced and added another time limited Pikachu, this one wearing Ash’s cap. It will be available from July 6 at 9pm BST (British Summer Time) until July 24th 9pm BST.
I have heard that level 5 raids that include the bosses being legendary Pokémon will be at the Chicago event on the 22nd of July, they will later be released to the world after the event has ended. There is also going to be more items added to the game at a later date including master balls, wepear berries increasing the stardust from catching Pokémon and golden pinaps that increase the amount of candy gained. There has been no official announcement on any of this as of yet.
Pokémon Go has come a long way from being the server-breaking and bug riddled game that it was. Personally, I hardly have any problems with the app itself anymore. The past year that Pokémon Go has been out has allowed for many updates and features to be added from the bare game it was at the beginning.
Some of the features that were not in the game at start include such things as;
The buddy system.
Pokémon appraisal.
Daily Pokémon/pokéstop streaks.
Pokémon Go Plus support.
The different items constantly being added which each new updates (Berries, TMs, etc.)
Raids, let’s talk about that.
A huge amount of players have returned after months of inactivity to try out the new raids and honestly, they aren't too bad. Of course the gym system isn't amazing but when you have to cope with giving out free premium currency, not everyone is going to be happy with the things you change. Raids occur in gyms, they have a 2 hour hatching period than an hour period where players can attempt to defeat it. The CP of the raid Pokémon bosses vary mostly depending on the level of the raid, raid levels are random from 1 through 5 although no level 5 raids have been seen or recorded yet and are presumed to contain legendaries. First raid pass of the day is free through spinning a newly introduced gym pokéstop, further passes can be brought in the shop for 100 coins each though they seem a bit overpriced, perhaps if the premium passes lasted for 2 or 3 raids, the 100 coin price tag could be justified.
We all know by now, the simple naming trick for Eevee's including;
Rainer > Vaporeon
Pyro > Flareon
Sparky > Jolteon
Sakura > Espeon
Tamao > Umbreon
But there is another way of getting the Eevee evolution that you desire, if you have an Eevee as your buddy and walk at least 10km with it, you can in fact make certain the evolution that you will receive. If you evolve that Eevee at night, you will receive an Umbreon whereas if you was to evolve during the day, Espeon.
There is also a rumour that the naming trick still works even after the first time that you've used them as long as you do not use the same name consecutively.
What do you think of the Pokémon Go anniversary celebrations so far?

I just received my 6 month anniversary chip for Pokemon sobriety. I enjoyed it and understand how it can become addictive. Enjoy but play responsible and do not get addicted like I did. :)
