Pirates, comedy and an excellent adventure and no, I'm not talking about of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I'm talking about some of the best graphics adventures I've had the pleasure of playing: The Secret of Monkey Island.
A game that could easily be at the top of the lists of best graphic adventures due to its catching and excellent story full of well-posed and charismatic characters.
Monkey Island saga.
Did they ever want to be pirates at some point in their lives? Well, this is the dream of GuyBrush Threepwood our charismatic and humorous protagonist, so he arrives on the Mêlée Island to be able to fulfill his longed-for dream, but to be able to achieve with its mission, it has to face 3 tests that were imposed to them by the pirates of greater rank that inhabit in that island.
Throughout our adventure, we'll stroll in all corners of the island, both to meet charismatic characters, humorous and even eccentric, as well as to be able to fulfill our objectives and likewise find some of the secrets that hide in this place, but always with the aim of becoming a real pirate.
The comedy is the main aspect that we find in this game, from the characters with whom we interact on the island and our main protagonist, know to give the touch comic and full of a humor that rubs in some cases the absurd, but presented in such a way that it is almost impossible that while you are playing do not let out a laugh.
Graphically it's pretty decent by the time this game came out, The Secret of Monkey Island presents us with a quite colorful map and despite the limitations of the time you could observe details both in the scenarios that made it visually pleasing and perfect for the type of game it is.
As for the characters both GuyBrush Threepwood, as well as those characters that we find during the tour on the island are very well designed, each with its own style and details to compare.
In this game you must be aware of what we see on the map, because things are always hidden from the naked eye, some things that will help us to continue with the history of the game, while others could be secrets that hide us, bearing in mind that in some cases some are easy to see while others may cause us more difficulty due to the graphic quality, but still, is quite enjoyable visually.
The music is pretty good, the soundtrack The Secret of Monkey Island is full of instruments of different types and the composition of the melodies have the tropical tone appropriate to the history and the characters, makes us feel that it really is an island where we are, music very moved and adapted to each situation that merits, besides that this is perfectly coupled with the scenarios of the game.
I remember the first graphic adventure I played was Broken Sword: Shadow of The Templars, but previously I had heard of The Secret of Monkey Island, but at that moment I was not attracted by the way of game that has, but then playing Broken Sword for simple curiosity, took me by surprise because I liked it a lot, so I decided to give The Secret of Monkey Island a try and take me another big surprise.
Remember that The secret of monkey island is a game point and clic besides being a graphic adventure and as is customary in these types of games, the puzzles are enough common to be able to advance in the story,
in addition to interacting with the objects of the scenarios to activate a lever or open a door, we must do so in the same way with the characters of the game because they can provide us with some necessary information to help us.
Despite the above, the gameplay of The Secret of Monkey Island is quite simple and you will not spend bad times trying to solve some riddle, but quite the contrary, with the touch of humor that has this game, more are going to be fun times than moments to think.
Many fans have this game on a pedestal and it's not at all surprising, this game knows how to mix a good story, charismatic characters and also add a kind of humor that easily makes you laugh, a game that even today and despite the years that have passed remains in force and if you have not played yet, I assure you that the time you will invest in this great game will not be in vain.
Yet another great review. It's easy calling games great when they came out of an era where developers often primarily wanted to make the best game they could possibly make within a dev cycle, not the most amount of money.

That's true, some years ago you could see the effort on the part of the game developers to bring to the public an excellent game.
Thank you, it is a pleasure that you always come here to leave a comment.
