Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Confirmed, No Multiplayer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is being developed and will be gracing our consoles in the near future. But, in what could be considered as one of the strangest business decisions ever made, it will not include multiplayer. A Call of Duty without multiplayer? Huh?

CharlieIntel reported on new information they obtained from sources who confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered was in development and would not have a multiplayer mode. This information was later confirmed by Eurogamer, whose sources also backed up these claims.

Rumours about a possible Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered began swirling after a listing appeared on Amazon Italy last week, which listed an April 30 release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Once reports starting circulating about the listing, it was quickly removed.

The original release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered quickly became one of the few video games to make more than $1 billion in revenue, so it is almost a guarantee that people will be excited for this release.

However, the lack of any multiplayer is concerning considering how important it was, not only for the franchise, but for this specific title. Multiplayer was one of the most anticipated parts of this title and many players logged hundreds of hour into it. Even today, eight years after its release, people are still playing it on Steam. So, it is strange that it would not be included in the remaster.

Now that this rumours has been confirmed by sources from two media outlets, it is safe to say that we can expect Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered at some point in the near future. Hopefully Activision and the developers working on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remaster change their mind about removing multiplayer, because nothing brings us together like quick-scoping and kill-streaks.
