Players of The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) will soon be embarking on a journey set in the region of Elsweyr: the home of the game's feline race, the Khajiit. The next chapter in the ESO story will task players with defending Elsweyr from the Dragons who have been unleashed upon the land.
As a part of the game's year long-event called Season of the Dragon, the Elsweyr update is scheduled for release on June 4. It will be the second release in a four stage adventure, with the first release, the Wrathstone DLC game pack, expected to arrive in February.
Dragons without the Power of the Dragonborn
The chapter will introduce new world quests that require players to work together to take down the Dragons terrorising the area and this time around you are not the Dovahkiin. A new 12-player trial will also be available and requires players to enter Sunspire and protect the temple of Alkosh from its new fire-breathing residents.
ESO's new Necromancer Class will also be making an appearance in Elsweyr, allowing players to raise the dead and wield them as weapons in the fight to protect Tamriel. The class will feature three new Skill Lines: Reaper, Bone Tyrant and Living Death.
Bethesda has confirmed that the new area, previously available in ESO: Arena, can be fully explored and will be a similar size to last year's Summerset zone. Elsweyr will take players on adventures across arid deserts and grassy landscapes and introduce them to the Khajiit-capital of Rimmen, currently occupied by Imperial forces.
Newcomers will not need to play ESO's previous installments in order to access this new chapter and will instead begin their journey in Elsweyr. Those who pre-purchase The Elder Scrolls Online: Elswyer will have access to the base game and both the Summerset and Morrowind chapters, along with an assortment of digital extras and the Rahd-m'Athra mount.
For more details on what's coming to ESO you can find it all on their official website.
