Release of Days Gone Pushed Back Once More

The Playstation 4 Exclusive title, Days Gone, has been pushed back yet again. Those who have been anxiously anticipating the opportunity to jump into a new zombie survival game will have to wait a little longer.

The upcoming action-adventure zombie title has the new release date of April 26th, 2019. This is moving a few months ahead of the prior amended release date of late February. Days Gone was originally scheduled for release in 2018.

Bend Studios has been developing the title since 2015. It will be the studios first gaming title since the release of their last project, Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, which was released in 2012 for the Playstation Vita.

Days Gone is a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game. Players will be able to explore an open world from a third-person perspective as they take control of bounty hunter hero, Deacon St. John.

The game features two types of zombies, which are referred to as 'Freakers' within the game. The two types of Freakers were revealed at the 2016 E3 stage demo. You can check out some of the footage from that demo below:

The game also features a fluid weather system and day/night cycle to mix up the gameplay. However, players will have to wait a little bit longer to experience this for themselves.

The additional delay has been attributed to a few reasons. Sony claims that the delay will liberate the development of Days Gone from a "crowded" timeframe. If the release date stayed in February, it would be in competition with the anticipated releases of other titles such as Anthem, Metro Exodus and Crackdown 3. Two of which were also scheduled to be released on February 22nd - The same day as Days Gone. It is understandable why Sony wanted to give Days Gone it's unique release date.

Bend Studios also said that it will "take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone". With the title being on Sony's radar for so many years, the gaming community it hoping it will be the worth the wait. Further time to "polish" the game, can only be a good thing.

To help your anticipation keep peaking until April 26th, here is one of the latest trailer for Days Gone.
