Ubisoft has confirmed that Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher will be making an appearance in Ghost Recon Wildlands.
A new teaser trailer revealed that Sam Fisher will be joining the Ghosts in Bolivia. the location where Ghost Recon Wildlands takes place. The trailer doesn't detail why Fisher is going to Bolivia or in what capacity players will be interacting with him, but we can assume it will involve night-vision goggles and sneaking around in the dark.
One of the most interesting parts of this reveal was how Sam Fisher sounded. Michael Ironside voiced Sam Fisher throughout most of the Splinter Cell franchise but was replaced by Eric Johnson for Splinter Cell: Blacklist. This change angered longtime fans since Ironside's performance was as iconic for the character as Fishers night-vision goggles. Within this trailer, it seems that Ironside has made a return to voicing Sam Fisher, which is great news for those who love the character and the franchise.
The Splinter Cell franchise has been on hiatus since the release of 2013's Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Ubisoft hasn't officially announced a new entry in the Splinter Cell franchise, so Sam Fisher's inclusion in Wildlands is his first appearance in a video game in five years. The only news of late has been surrounding the production of a film, with Tom Hardy starring in the lead role. It will be interesting to see whether Fisher's appearance in Wildlands means a new Splinter Cell game is in the works. Personally, I hope it does.
Ubisoft recently announced their Year 2 content plans for Ghost Recon Wildlands, which will include more campaign content as well as new PvP game mode. Alongside this, Ubisoft is also including new items, rewards, and community requested features.
Further news about Sam Fisher in Ghost Recon Wildlands will be revealed on April 9, with the new update coming on April 10.

Yeah a new Splinter Cell game would be amazing but I'm not to sure if they would be willing to with how well their other titles are going.

Indeed, so many good games out now but a revival of splinter cell would definitely be a welcomed addition imo.
