Switch Port Of Dark Souls Remastered Delayed To Summer 2018

in gaming •  7 years ago

The Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered has been delayed to summer 2018. My sun. It's setting. It's dark, so dark.

The delay was announced via the official From Software Twitter account and doesn't give much detail about why the switch version of Dark Souls Remastered is being delayed.

"Due to various reasons, the release for the Nintendo Switch version of "Dark Souls Remastered" has been moved to summer, 2018. We offer our sincerest apologies to everyone anticipating its release and hope you will enjoy being able to play Dark Souls anywhere at any time."

Another announcement was made via the official Dark Souls Twitter account, which reveals that the Solaire of Astora amiibo has also been delayed, but the other versions of the game will be released on schedule. Praise the sun!

"Due to the nature of causality, we must announce that the Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered will be pushed back to summer of 2018, and with it, the release of the Solaire of Astora amiibo. PC/PS4/X1 version will maintain their May 25th release date."

Considering the release date for the other platforms hasn't changed, you don't have to be Sherlock to figure out that the developers are having a difficult time porting the game to the Nintendo Switch, which is pretty ironic. As a console, the Switch can bring new challenges for developers, such as fitting games onto cartridges and the portability of the console. Hopefully, the delay provides the developers with enough time to fix whatever issues they are facing and are able to bring the world of Lordran to the Switch.

Dark Souls Remastered is a remaster of the classic game released in 2011. Players explore the dark and cruel world of Lordran while facing dangerous creatures of various shapes and sizes. Many consider Dark Souls to be the best in the series and I understand but come on, Bloodborne is the best. Don't @ me.

Well, that was unexpected. But I'd rather have them delay it and polish it instead of releasing it unfinished and fix it with patches afterwards. However I am eagerly waiting for PS4 release

Yup, better late then never as they would say!

That is unfortunate however I still can't understand how or why Nintendo keeps selling old games for a higher price...

Whatever can make them money I guess. I'm sure plenty of people will be jumping onto this!

Oh I see.

Not sure how to respond to this but thank you for dropping by!
