The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Hello Steemit!

I remember back in the day when i played on console(2012). And one day my parents bought me a new game called "Skyrim". I got in to it and WOW.

Skyrim is a open world RPG where the player's quest is to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world.

This is my history with the game!

Skyrim on console

Skyrim is one of those games that just never dies. I remember first starting the game and seeing the beginning sequence and not thinking much of it. Then getting to the character creation screen and making my very own character. And when the dragon and feeling excited. Then i played trough the entire story and always having a good time. There wasn't a single time that i felt bored, even after playing the main story, there just was so much to do. Played the thieves guild, dark brotherhood and the Winterhold college missions. And other random missions i stumbled across, and i think that's the beauty of Skyrim, You can never do just one quest at a time. Well at least i can't. I always ended up getting a quest along the way and ended up doing that, and that then led to me stumbling on another quest and this was a endless cycle. The endless hour's of game play i got from the console version alone was amazing.

Skyrim on pc

This was the beginning to something that lasted for 3 years where i regularly played Skyrim on a weekly basis. I got Skyrim In i around winter 2012, and i played the game on pc a bit but never thought much of it, still preferring the console version. But in 2013 i got a good enough pc to run it on decent settings and i switched over. This was one of the best decisions of my life 😂. I started the quests again and played to level 42 i think, but at this point i was getting bored and felt like it was repetitive. Then my friend invited me over for a lan, and there someone said to check out there mod about a flying horse or something. This was a life changer.

Skyrim with Mods

Skyrim mods, wow, it started of small with a weapon here and there, i moved to graphics mods, better inventory, better spells and much much more. I remember pushing the game to it's limit just modding it to the point it crashed and then removing a mod and and swapping them out(Later i realized i provably had a bad pc or mods were incompatible). Getting and installing every mod i could find and just making Skyrim my own. The first mod i provably got was Killable Children, it always bothered me I couldn't kill something in the game, this fixed that. Later getting a better pc and pushing it even further.

If you haven't played the game i highly recommend you do. I would say that it's still a great game after all these years, and the modding community is still active. But you can have a lot of fun with just the vanilla Skyrim quests!
