ASSASSINS’S CREED ORIGINS STORY REVIEW #3: THE END!

in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello guys, so yesterday I wrote a review about Assassins Creed Origin and here goes the continuation:

They are the Crocodile, the Lizard, the Scarab, and the Hyena. They each have power over specific region of Egypt. In order to take justice for their son and help the nation as well, Bayek and Aya decided to track these target down. Before they set off, Cleopatra brought back Bayek’s title of Medjay and gave him a new badge. Bayek is back to being a guider and a protector of Egypt and this time for the true Pharaoh, Cleopatra.

Bayek seeks to hunt down each of his new targets beginning with the Scarab who has been torturing Letoplis. It happens to be their own ruler who they adore and trust operating in shadows as Scarab. After been killed and revealing his intentions to his friend and family, Bayek seeks to hunt Hyena which got thing interesting.
The Hyena is a woman namely Khaliset who lost her daughter and will give up anything just to bring her daughter back. She found a tomb left behind by what could be the Isu. Within the tomb is a relic that secures images and a voice record of those that were there before. These type of devices and relics were left behind so that humanity could overcome the next flare once more. Khaliset used the information to try to get back her daughter, and was sacrificing her own people to make it work. Finding the tomb, together with the Hyena, came to the knowledge of Bayek that there is more he does not understand. He has a one sided mind though, and so he took down Khaliset in order to continue on his mission.
Next the Lizard of Memphis, a priest named Hetepi. He has been poisoning and killing the people of his city by trying to get more powers that way. He is terrible man, shading innocent men, women, and children, just to gain their respect in a twisted way. His death was swift, but he shed’s light because the snake cannot be stopped. It is more than a few people; it is an ancient order that set out to bring peace to the world by force. Showing that it is the Birth of the Templar Order as it is known today.

Finally, the Crocodile, a bad leader who produces violent soldiers that she uses in Egypt to oppress the people. To Bayek’s surprise, the Crocodile is an old elderly Greek woman namely Berenike who uses her intelligence and wealth to rule with an iron fist. This shows that you can never tell what could lie in the dark.

While Bayek was going around assassinating his targets, he was not the only one busy. Aya might not be pulling assassinations together with you, but that doesn’t mean that she is not capable of taking care of herself elsewhere in the game. Alongside a band of mercenaries, she seeks to find Pompeius Magus, known a great Pompey, so to gain an ally for Cleopatra. Linking up with him would be giving more power in their corner. It turned out to be that Aya is one bad ass captain, as she took down several enemy ships. She continued to prove herself unstoppable and more than capable of securing dispatching foes and alliance relative ease. Pompey the great originally looked uninterested, but is persuaded with money and promises of a strong alliance. With Pompeius Magus guided, it is time to tell Cleopatra that all targets are dead.

Of course, after defeating the last of hideous rulers that are tormenting the people of Egypt, two more stands in your way, the Scorpion Pothinus and the Jackal Septimus, they stand beside pharaoh Ptolemy. His closest adviser and guider are at the top of the food circle with their secret order. Of course, it is not that easy to get close to them, and once war hits, things get very messy. Before targeting them though, Cleopatra wanted to be united with the Great Pompey, so she gave Bayek and Aya a task to seek and find out his position. Meanwhile, they find the Great Pompey and his soldiers murdered.

Cleopatra knew that she must forge an alliance, so she kept her sight on Caesar who is with Ptolemy. With one of their clever plans, Aye, Bayek, and their friends sneak Cleopatra in a rolled up rug into where Caesar is staying. Once they were together, they send Ptolemy on his way and also forged a new alliance, one that will be joined or bounded by marriage. Things are starting to look up for your mission, until war breaks out.

Ptolemy’s soldiers attack together with the Greek and things became tumultuous. Aye, Bayek, and even Caesar went to the frontlines while Cleopatra keeps hold with the throne, having said that if they want her to move, the enemy is going to kill her. While fighting, they found the location of the Scorpion who happens to be on an elephant battle. Killing him will make a kind of good intention on the part of order. He claims to want peace, but he is also willing to force it if necessary, even if it means killing lot of innocent people.

Bayek had his eyes on the Jackal, a strong and powerful warrior. After beating him in combat, he went for the kill, only for Caesar and his men to stop him. Since he is a Roman, they agreed that it is up to them to deal with him, even going as far as knocking Bayek out to save the Jackal. While this is going on, Aya carried out the task from Cleopatra, and set out to kill Ptolemy. But while looking at his face, the fear in his eyes, she decided not to. But still, luck is not in his side as alligators set upon his boat and tears him to pieces. Scorpion and the Ptolemy are dead, and it seems like the Jackal will be dealt with. You must have noticed that we have not to touched the modern day story yet, and that is because, it is better to finish up all together since it does not have too much bearing on Aya and Bayek’s adventure. It is also important though, as the brotherhood recruited a new member.

Aya and Bayek’s lives are explored by Layla Hassan, a rogue Abstergo who wanted nothing else other than to prove herself worthy of the Animus Project. She managed to discover Bayek together with his tomb and made use of his DNA to go deeper into past than ever before, having seen the birth of the brotherhood. She acquired some of their skills, which came in handy when Abstergo sends agent to kill and steal her research.

After finishing Bayek and Aya’s adventure she woke up just to see William Miles, Desmond Miles’ Father and the current mentor of the assassins. He discovered what he was doing and comes to recruit her so that they can take down the Templar order. Though she does not fully trust him, but she agreed, and thus a new assassin is born, just as other birth was witnessed in the entire brotherhood.

Time has passed, Aya and Bayek found themselves banished from the palace and Cleopatra will have to do nothing with them again. The Jackal was given a seat in the inner circle, therefore not justifying Aya and Bayek. Caesar and Cleopatra were just as bad and corrupt, as they seek and sought power, obtain it and seeks for more. Bayek, not satisfied with the way things has turned into, took those left by Cleopatra and formed his order. During this period, we discover that there is one more masked one, the Lion. This is the person fully in control of Egypt, and a threat to everyone.

In the meantime, after getting Aya and Bayek out of the inner circle, the lion made his moves. Looks like he was the right hand man of Caesar, namely Flavius. He is the high ranking member of the Order of Ancients, and as the one who lead to the death of Bayek’s son. After finding out an item in Alexander’s Tomb, Flavius observed that he can open the vault with a staff located in the tomb. So he went to the Siwa and opens the vault, unlocking the power of the Apple. With this, he can bend anyone to his will and use that opportunity to cut a swath through Egypt.

Egypt is now tearing apart and Aya and Bayek thought that something must be done, as Aya and Bayek set out for the lion.

Bayek finds Flavius and went into combat with him. During the fight, Flavius uses the Apple of Eden to made hallucinations and seems to control time and space. When all is said and done, Bayek has his last vision. He stands talking with Flavius before he dies and cannot bring himself to end him, before a vision of Khemu appears and assisted him to finish what he started. Bayek now possesses the relic as Flavius is no more. However, Aya is not done. She choice to set out for Rome, to where Jackal and Caesar are. Before leaving, she meets once more with Bayek. They came to realize that they were doing things the wrong way and that their fate is in death. They needed to work in Shadows, just like those they hunt, taking out only the most oppressing target and righting the injustices of the world. Aya then bids adieu and seeks out for Rome.

Going for Rome, Aya went to accomplish what her and Bayek started. First was to take out Jackal, which unfortunately was unable to be saved by Caesar, who was busy at the time. But her work isn’t done yet, she now finds the man spared Jackal before. With her ally, Brutus, she worked close to him. While he was speaking, Aya sneaks’ and stabs him right before everyone joins in with Brutus. Indeed, Aya completed her task as there is no more target. Aya went to Cleopatra’s Chambers and gave her a warning that if she does not do right to Egypt, Aya will come back and take her life.

While Assassin’s Creed Origin looked deeply on Bayek and his adventure, players actually got to see the birth of another legendary assassin. Aya has made the Hidden Ones (which becomes the brotherhood we know today) in Rome after Bayek did the same in Memphis, Egypt. But she did more, after her triumphs she took in a new name. She is now Amunet, the Hidden One.

Players and fans may remember her tomb from Assassin’s Creed 2, were her seal was used to unlock Altair’s armor. The last picture you see of her showed her standing and talking in a crowd directly in front of you, the player. And then she vanishes in a blink of eye.

This is the first time we witness the legendary assassin, which in Assassin’s Creed lore assassinates Cleopatra using an asp. You see her grow in power and was formed a powerful killer. It is an interesting game end, seeing what would become two legends given birth from tragedy. While we have the knowledge of her most famous kills now, it will be mined blowing to see what she and Bayek do now.
