I feel sorry for "Doublelift" Team Liquid's Attack Damage Carry (ADC). Formerly of Team Solo Mid (TSM) and before that Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) this guy has been to world's multiple times with multiple teams. Most of the time it seemed like it was the most powerful team North America has put together and every time I remember the team doesn't even make it out of groups.
The only thing I can figure out is he's too toxic or he put too much on his own shoulders. He never looks bad at worlds, but never seems like his usual confident self. I'm by no means a League of Legends analyst or coach, but he's dominated the NA scene for so long on so many different teams you eventually start to wonder what is going on?
I remember watching him last year on TSM at worlds and thinking he seemed like the only one on the team that really cared about making it out of groups. He made some stupid mistakes when the team was behind, but at least he was playing to win and not just to lose a little more slowly. This year with Team Liquid they dropped a game to EDG they shouldn't have and just seemed like the team got a slow start. I don't know if they still had doubts in themselves after MSI, but never really seemed to turn it on on stage.
I didn't watch any of the 100 Thieves games today because it ended how I assumed it would. 100 Thieves beat G Rex and lost the rest. Not exactly a shocker. As much as I don't like the EU in League of Legends as they are our rival, it was nice to see that G2 and Fnatic made it out of groups.
After how I've seen Fnatic acting recently though I won't be disappointed if they lose all 3 games in quarters. Saying they are going to make it to finals seems like a little bit of a stretch to me and would be really happy to see them get smashed in an upset. I'd like to see an RNG and KT final at worlds. Haven't looked at the schedule to see if this will really happen, but that would be the game I like to see in the end.
