Why Islands of Nyne is the Next Battle Royale game to play.

I'm certainly not going to say it's the last, but it's definately the next. Yes, overtop of Fortnite and Pubg.

Here is why. What is CS:GO had a baby with Planetside? And then you put it in a Battle Royale. That's the most apt description i can give you of IoN. It's extremely fast paced, has a large emphasis on movement, and is entirely skilled based.

Recoil patterns are consistent so you can learn them over time, much like CSGO. Loot boxes aren't a thing, at least not yet. While there are crates in the game, the only way to currently get them is with in-game currency. You can't buy them. There are items you can buy, all of which are cosmetic, but you get what you pay for. Currently there are 4 cosmetic items that are $4.99. You get to see exactly what they are before-hand. It's very fair and very enticing microtransactions.

So why is it the next Battle Royale to play? Well, they did launch with server issues, but they almost instantly took the servers down to identify the issue and fix it, and they did, within the hour. They are really ontop of their game for support. The fix took about an hour in total and there servers were fine, aside from some matchmaking issues, which is honestly expected on launch day. If they continue with this kind on point support, you can always expect good things from this game. That being said, this is also the first Battle Royale that evening on LAUNCH DAY, i expierenced no lag, latency issues, or weird de-sync. Those types of issues are plaguing pretty much every other battle royale.

The looting system does need a little bit of work, as does the melee system, but the throwing knife to insta-kill people early in the game adds some serious risk reward. They have multiple armor and invetory systems going on in the looting game, which adds a decent bit of strategy to it. First off, Armor reduces damage per bullet you recieve directly to your health. There are 4 pieces of armor you can get, Boots, Chest, Arms and Helmet. Then, you can also get a shield which directly absords damage regardless of where you are shot.

Now, this sounds like a ton of damage mitigation, but you can still get easily 1 shot. The Sniper Rifle can easily 1 tap you. Aim duels happen so often. It's rare for you to get flanked, and if you do you can often fight back. The Time to Kill is actually pretty low, but because everyone is getting used to the recoil patterns, there's a lot of whiffing and awkward reload dancing.

I could go on and on about the systems i enjoy in this game that in my opinion make it better than many other Battle Royales out of the gate, but the best thing you can do is watch some content of it to decide for yourself.
