Is World of Warcraft still fun?

I have been playing World of Warcraft since March 2008. That is the month I turned 14 and with the money I got as birthday gifts, I went and bought myself World of Warcraft. It looked so cool to me and watching all those old-school PvP videos made me want to play this game.

Now after all these years, I still find myself playing once or twice a week. I still keep my subcription active even though I don't play it the same way I did in the past but I still enjoy my time in it and it's a good way for me to relax after a long work week.

With the start of Legion, many people came back to the game because it looked to be more fun that Warlords of Draenor and many left after the first 2-3 months of Legion because it became repetitive. It is repetitive but only if you want to be a hardcore PvE or PvP player and this is the way World of Warcraft worked from Day 1.

If you want to be the best, you need to farm countless hours in order to obtain that armor, or that achievement or whatever it is that is hard to obtain. I think players lost track of this and expect everything to be handed to them and there are parts of the game where stuff is just given out but it only takes you a big higher. In order to be at the top, with the best players, you need to farm and do repetitive things and that is not fun at all for most of us.

From a very casual point of view, the game is still fun. I enjoy the story, reading up every quest line and looking deeper into the aspects of each zone. I also enjoy doing the regular random dungeon and or doing some PvP battlegrounds. I also enjoy revisiting old dungeons and raids, running them and hoping for some rare items as well and I also enjoy achievement hunting, farming for some sweet Titles or Mounts.

PvP is especially fun for me at the moment due to the new Honor system which allows you to level up and unlock extra PvP specific talents and also unlocking Prestige levels which give you a sense of acomplishment. Also the new PvP brawls are quite fun to run, like the Warsong Scramble which had 3 flags on each side instead of 1 and there were random buff cubes scattered through the map.

After all this time, I still enjoy myself while playing but only on a casual level. I do enjoy the occasional farm here and there for the stuff I really want to obtain but I would never try to be one of the top-players again, farming the same world quests each and every day.

Now tell me, do you still enjoy playing World of Warcraft? Or if you quit, which expansion made you do it?

Cheers!
