Actually there is already Geocoin where basically you walk (or should I say fly) around and find some coins. There's one in the middle of Greenland if you have the time (lol).

There's also Dinomess that is put out by getgame.io, backed by Open Ledger. I'm not sure what stage it is at in the token sale, but I've been seeing promo material for it for ages. Haven't looked into how it works, just informing of other ideas in the blockchain/AR space.

Seriously, the UI looks almost identical lol Can you imagine if Pokemon Go releases their ICO with their dApp?? Portable chargers will be flying off the shelf as people will be glued to their phones, making an income 🤣

This is an awesome idea! To me it seems like a blend of Pokémon Go and geocaching, but with the reward of something that has “value”. I will definitely try this out when it launches!

Sweetness going to have to check that out. Hopefully I can collect some decent ones around here. Would be awesome if businesses got involved on this offering rewards to visiting their stores and then perhaps picking up a promotional item etc.

Definitely will be following this one, I believe in the future gamers and content viewers will be rewarded for paying attention to and interacting with content and media. I mean, Pokemon GO would have lasted much longer if you could earn something.

We put so much money, time and effort into playing stupid games, if there is a way to actually earn money then it is possibly a good thing.

I hope to be one of the first users of this application as I am a huge believer in this sort of thing.

This reminds me a bit of the Sweatcoin app, which is built on blockchain technology, but they created their own "Sweatcoin" rather than using an existing cryptocurrency. However, it turns out that these "coins" are basically useless as you can only spend them in their store for items like "$15 off a $50 purchase at this specific store you have never heard of."

I found this part in the white paper somewhat dubious:

Because it’s a standard, most exchanges automatically support it, so it can be globally traded for other assets. Theoretically, instead of using the tokens in-game, our active players who earn the CH tokens can exchange them for Bitcoin and speculate on the cryptocurrency markets, or
they can cash out - either via services that let them (i.e. Coinbase, Bitfalls, Bitstamp), or through our CryptoHunt debit card (see Economy below).

I don't think it's as easy to get your altcoin listed on an exchange as these guys seem to think. I am also skeptical of the CH debit card with all the crypto debit cards that have been shut down and payment processors forbidding using regular credit cards to purchase cryptocurrency.

If CH manages to get listed on an exchange, I think this will be a fantastic app, but until then, it's just going to be a variant of Pokemon Go with a coin gimmick.

Glad to hear! The amount of effort required to create a new coin these days is so low that it's hard to separate the scamcoins from legit coins. There are a couple forks that I haven't claimed yet because they're not listed on an exchange, so what's the point? I think Bitcoin Rhodium is having this problem at the moment.
