There's a special story quest to be done. I'll kit myself up and throw myself into the depths of it all. It appears its got something to do with a shrieking crow, so we'll see what we can do to try and dispatch it, and its murderous companions.
There's a fine balance between going into things with lots and lots on the line, and gambling just enough with pushing on through "just one more room" that it can become tiresome - but... it's all in the name of fully restoring the hamlet in a bid to be strong enough for the Darkest of Dungeons.
I'm just a wimp and won't venture in at this stage!
