It turns out that the horrors of the night can even attack the Hamlet itself.
This hasn't happened in any of the other quests I've embarked upon, but it was an interesting curveball to get thrown, with the threat of buildings that I had upgraded being potentially sacked by the invaders if I ignored them.
I didn't ignore them. This is that fight, and The Hamlet's desperate grasp on progress being retained.
