holoz0r plays Diablo 3: The Darkening of Tristram, 2018

Hi Steemit,

I'm back again, with more antics in Diablo 3. I'm constantly discovering new content that Blizzard has added to the game since my original play through so many years ago. The first of these interludes (and to break up Greater Rifts, which I'm continuing); is the event The Darkening of Tristram, which gives you sixteen levels of Diablo.

Yes, Diablo. This is a legacy expansion / homage to the original Diablo, released oh so many years ago, that broke oh so many ball-mice. Remember having to clean the lint /dead skin off the rollers? Now that's true nostalgia.

That's not a dying GPU in the video, that's the desired rendering mode. There's also a lowered frame rate to ensure that the retro feeling is there.

The in-game event ends in about 36 hours, so if you want to conquer the dungeon this year, you'll have to do it soon. There's a pentagram on the world map that you can teleport to in Act 1, head South, and go through the portal.

Enjoy. :)

My next Diablo post will be an update on rifting progress!

"I sense a soul in search of answers..." Nostalgia trip! I remember playing this on the first Playstation on co-op, and my hoarding friend took all the gold to buy himself spellbooks. Can't believe I went along with that, lol...

Really looking forward to WoW Legacy servers as well. Now that's gonna make my nostalgia meter explode!

I've gotten sucked back into Diablo 3 something serious. I'm afraid I won't get bored for months. I never played WoW, I was very much into the opposite end of the spectrum at that time in my gaming life, playing a boatload of jprgs, shooters, and for a very long time, Guild Wars!

Nice game

This looks really cool. I've only watched my brother play Diablo 2 back in the day, so this is interesting to me.
