I agree with you. The show started promising, but ended with a sour taste in my mouth. In my opinion they focused too much on Smash Bros. They could have easily spent 10 minutes from that segment to highlight other games that are coming in the near or distant future. But instead they showed (almost) all the changes that have been made to each character in the game.

In general I found this Direct to also be lacking in terms of energy and enthusiasm. It felt a bit off sometimes.

But I guess Nintendo is marching to the beat of their own drum and that they will have 2 to 3 more directs in 2018, where they will make further announcements and reveals.

PS: Wasn't it also weird that they didn't talk about online at all?
