Garry's Mod, more commonly referred to as GMOD (I will from here on out in this post), is an incredibly old Half-Life mod in which anything and everything is possible. Launched in 2004, this game predates some people that may even read this article.

Being a sandbox game, the sky is the limit when it comes to different game modes to play, or things to create. The community behind the game is incredibly strong, even 15 years later. Browsing the Steam Workshop yields hundreds of thousands of different maps, characters, cars, literally anything you could think of, even some more NSFW things.
But let's finally get down to the title of this post, the state of this game in the Youtube community.
Basically, for years now, there have been very large Youtubers (some because of the game got big, others picked it up later) that have dominated the GMOD funny moments video scene. People like VanossGaming, H20 Delirious, and SeaNanners have all racked up billions upon billions of views from their funny GMOD moments.
Due to this, anytime a smaller youtuber (such as myself) attempts to create a GMOD video in the same fashion, they're seen as "clones" of these big youtubers, and do not get the support nor the response they deserve despite how well made their videos can be. An example of this can be a youtuber by the name of Hyphen:
That's one reason why I personally switched to steemit and DTube, to not only reach a greater audience, but to hopefully reinvent the way some games stigma has been ruined for smaller youtubers who just want to play games that they love.
